...here we go again

Hi Topsy. I saw what I took to be moulds at rads. Shapes all stacked up. Have you got a date to start the radiotherapy yet? I'm loosing track.

Time is really flying by. Another day and I have not cleaned the kitchen ;) Oh well, it would only get dirty again... At least we have a working dishwasher.

Still I have been awake all day and I'm hoping that will mean a good nights sleep tonight.

jchocchip · 15/11/2011 22:09

Just found Murder in Paradise on iplayer and realised that dh has tried to fix the speakers on the computer today, so now the headphones don't work! Will have to go and evict dh from in front of the tv!

DeeScent · 15/11/2011 22:11

Summat, you can be just yourself on here, whatever you are feeling, don't worry about that. Sometimes you can say something on here that you wouldn't say to nearest and dearest.

At first when I managed not to think about bc, I was brought back to reality with an almost physical jolt, but now I can go really long periods without thinking about it and then when I do I'm quite calm. And this has been over only about 5/6 weeks. It's a rollercoaster really, good days, not so good days, but there's lots of support from all sorts of people. Smile

topsyturner · 15/11/2011 22:17

Summat you can be morbid here , we all have been there . I have certainly spilled all my morbid thoughts on here , things that I couldn't imagine burdening my family with .
Doesn't mean we are ready to shuffle off , just offloading most of the time .

No date yet jane , waiting for a letter .
Have an image running through my brain now of stacks of body moulds lying about like they were spare body parts Grin

jchocchip · 15/11/2011 22:21

Summat - that is a normal reaction but it will pass. I did read all the way through the folder and found that helpful in understanding and accepting my treatment plan. My bc nurse helped me by explaining everything again after it was a bit of a blur the first time I was told.

jchocchip · 15/11/2011 22:23

there was quite a stack on shelves, guess they have to keep them somewhere...

KurriKurri · 15/11/2011 22:27

On the topic of moulds, - a friend of mine had to have one when she had six weeks of rads for throat cancer, - when she'd finished they asked her if she wanted to keep the mould and take it home ( she declined Grin) - Must add that friend is doing very well now Smile

topsyturner · 15/11/2011 22:28

Wonder if the rad techs play with them ...? Grin
I would if I worked there

topsyturner · 15/11/2011 22:30

kk I did ask the tech if I could keep mine at the end , like those plaster casts people have made of their pregnant tummys .
He kind of looked at me strangely and said "eerm , yes if you really want too"
Surely I can't be the first to ask ?

triplets · 15/11/2011 22:43

Amazing story - gorgeous little babe. I don't suppose mum will be asking to keep the 1.5 ton lead shield! Garden ornament, anyone? Grin

DeeScent · 15/11/2011 22:51

MaryAnnSingleton · 15/11/2011 22:51

Am very impressed by your cakes Smile

OP posts:
triplets · 15/11/2011 22:56

Yes, he`s still beautiful, have his photo next to me now.....................
I love to bake, can you tell??
I held a tea party in my garden early in Sept, to raise money for the Brain Appeal, my lovely friend had a brain tumour removed in June. I baked for England!!

KurriKurri · 15/11/2011 23:58

triplets I'm so sorry for the loss of your beautiful son.

Your triplets look like lots of fun, - and how lucky they are to have a mum who is so good at baking, - those cakes look brilliant.

topsy - I would have thought it was a reasonbale thing to ask, - I mean they can't exactly use them for someone else since they are individually fitted.

KurriKurri · 15/11/2011 23:59

reasonbale ??? - good grief it really is time for bed, where's Zebedee?

topsyturner · 16/11/2011 00:10

triplets your first born is beautiful (and your 2nd , 3rd and 4th !)

Goodnight All , going to bed a bit weepy tonight . Don't know why , just had a wave over take me .
I shall be better in the morning .

KurriKurri · 16/11/2011 00:12

MaryAnnSingleton · 16/11/2011 07:23

good morning...hope you are feeling cheerier today topsy
Is it rads planning today amber or am I confused ?

OP posts:
topsyturner · 16/11/2011 07:37

Morning All

Very little sleep last night , but don't have to be anywhere or do anything today . So will catch up on the sofa later .

Feeling much cheerier this morning .
Don't know what was wrong with me last night .
Was happily playing around on the laptop , and next thing I knew I was crying !

I have individual chocolate puddings and custard .
Once the DC have gone to school I may have one for breakfast (it has orange flavouring in it , that's got to be one of my 5 a day right ?) .

Good luck for today Amber , it will be a lot of hanging around and being drawn on . But totally do-able .

Any other appointments today ?

jchocchip · 16/11/2011 07:42

Good Morning.

Started my new exercise regimen yesterday, also known as running for the train. Cut it a bit fine today, no time for proper breakfast or to feed the cat! I'm sure cat will persuade dd to feed him later.

Woken up with a bit of a cold which I could do without. Have remebered my knitting bag, so maybeI can do a bit on the train back from rads. This train is squashed with people standing so its staying put for now :)

jchocchip · 16/11/2011 07:47

waves to Topsy.
