They have moved her to Auckland General, shes having a complete heart valve replacement first thing tomorrow. They said she has alot of clotting round the valve they replaced last year which has caused it to jam open, putting stress on her other valves causinf them to leak badly, they say they need to do the op tomorrow as shes really ill.

Im numb i cant belive its all happening so fast 3 days ago i had my mum feeling fine by my side and now i dont know if im gonna see her again after tomorrow. The worst thing is shes scared and i cant bare to think of her like that, all i can do is cry even though i know i should be strong for her. please please pray for her.

Sorry to hear this. Best of luck for the op and a speedy recovery.

HollyLogos · 23/12/2005 10:09

very sorry to hear this Charlee. I do hope the operation goes well and that your mum makes a speedy recovery.

Please tell your mum to try not to worry (easier said than done I know) my fil had to have his cardiac surgery redone after several years and he went on to live a very happy and healthy life for many years.

Charleesawmummykissingsanta · 23/12/2005 20:45

Well i have just left the hospital, shes just gone down for her op. The surgeon says her chances arent good but obviously they will do there best to get her through it. Now we have to wait roughyly 6-8 hrs. She was so brave when we left. i told her how much we all loved her and that we would see her when she wakes up.

Im 18 by the way.
Im trying to keep myself busy untill they phone to say its over and how it went. i wil try to keep you all posted as best i can.
