When did you have your first period after your first child was born?

No idea, Pie. I did have backaches for nearly 1 full month, which I believe was from the epidural. I also bled continuously for approx. 5 weeks - and then didn't bleed again for 8 months. Hope you didn't break anything having wild passionate sex so early !! Just kidding!! Really I'm impressed by your other thread. . . .

pie, my lochia stopped completely at 4 weeks. 2 weeks later I had several days' bleeding - not particularly heavy, just more 'period-like' than the lochia. Then 5 weeks later I had another one, then four weeks after that and forever after....the first two were light and painless, the third one was painful and much more like my normal periods, which I assume means that it was probably the first ovulatory cycle. I was breastfeeding exclusively and quite frequently through all this time. I suppose though that it was only in retrospect that I was convinced it was a period - I wasn't worried enough to get it checked out because I had no pain, it didn't seem smelly/infected or nasty in any way, and it went away after a few days. HTH

I always read that breastfeeding at night offers 98% protection against pregnancy for the first 6 months after birth. That's about the same as condoms... but not the same as 100% protection.

My periods took 1 year to come back post-partum, btw.

periods came back after c.8 mo with both - was still excl bf both times (of course had solids from 5 mo, but no bottles).
