Just that, and also, does it matter if you are breastfeeding or not?
thanks!

5 weeks after I stopped bfing when dd was getting on for 6 months old, although by that stage I was down to only 1 bf a day with the rest formula.I have a 33 day cycle now!

FineVintage · 29/10/2003 13:51

8-10 weeks I think.

fio2 · 29/10/2003 13:54

lol susan was overweight after I had both of mine My gran reckons its to do with age but people might take offence at that too

fio2 · 29/10/2003 13:55

whoops missed out 'I' was overweight not susan lol

celandine · 29/10/2003 14:52

I've just got mine today Ds is now 14 weeks and bottlefed. No pain at all either, which I'm suprised (and pleased) about as they used to be quite painful.

guddy · 29/10/2003 16:12

susanmt · 29/10/2003 16:38

fio2 · 29/10/2003 17:53

glad you've got a sense of humour susan

happyspider · 29/10/2003 18:18

a few of you make a good point here: did your cycle change at all "after" pg? I have a wonderful skin since I got pg and used to get quite spotty around my period, so I am dreading loosing my newly found wonderful skin!

10 months with DS (BF) 3 months with DD1 (BF for 5 weeks) and 9 months with DD2 (BF)

tinyfeet · 29/10/2003 19:04

Mieow, if you don't mind me asking, why did you bf dd1 for much shorter than the others?

Cam · 30/10/2003 09:58

4 weeks after both dd's were born, ie only missed periods when actually pg even though I b'fed both times. As for being overweight, whilst I must admit to being so second time, I was underweight first time, so I don't go with that theory.

Blu · 30/10/2003 10:26

9 months. Was bf full time for 4 months, then morning and night.

Pancake · 30/10/2003 10:44

Mine started on day one back at work after both ds! Not great - believe me!!!!!

FairyMum · 30/10/2003 11:43

About 3 months after the birth I think. I felt cheated. I thought it would be gone forever as I was bf every 5 minutes....

princesspeahead · 30/10/2003 14:07

today
7.5 weeks. not breastfeeding.

now, where did I put those tampax almost a year ago?

Cha · 31/10/2003 17:23

Reading this thread, I was lucky. Mine didn't come back for 11 months (breastfed for 13 months). My second is now 2 months old and we haven't been using any contraception under the (mistaken???) impression that we are safe. Are we?

futurity · 31/10/2003 18:34

NO! You are not safe. I don't know the ins and outs but I am sure breastfeeding isn't a reliable source of contraception. Ask Jules Oliver (Jamies wife!). She was told it was and got pregnant when number 1 was 3 months old!!

pie · 03/11/2003 16:34

Can I bump this up to ask a question?

For the ladies who have a had a period very soon after the birth, how do you know when its still Lochia or if its a period?

DD2 was born 4 weeks 2 days ago and I haven't had any bleeding since last Tuesday (6 days ago) but I'm bleeding today and have a backache. Is it likely to be my period?

Teletubby · 03/11/2003 16:39

After 8 months with dd1 and then 7 weeks after dd2! Knew it was a period because the post birth bleeding stopped at about 4 weeks. I breastfed exclusively with both so was quite shocked to have a period so soon with dd2

tinyfeet · 03/11/2003 17:18

Pie, are you breastfeeding?

pie · 03/11/2003 17:19

about every 2 freaking hours!!!

I b/f this much last time (b/f till DD1 was 1 year) and had my period when she was 3 months.

musica · 03/11/2003 17:21

pie, I thought I'd got my period when at 6 weeks I had the return of some bleeding and some backache. But, I think it was just me doing too much - once that had stopped, it seemed to come back if I put dd in the sling and walked a lot.
