Skin pain like a burn but haven't BEEN burnt?

What on Earth is wrong with me? On my right arm, just to the side of my elbow, and also on the fingers of my right hand, on the top of my hand on the bits of my fingers that are between my knuckles on my hand and the first joint in my fingers, I have a pain when it is brushed even really gently that is Soooooo painful it's sending me through the roof. It feels like I have badly burnt my elbow and my fingers. But I haven't. There is no rash or mark, but it still hurts like I have burnt myself when I haven't.

What is wrong with me?

Hahaha to malaria - I am assuming Malaria would be a little hard to get when you haven't been outside of Essex for a decade?!

If it feels like sunburn?it might be nerve damage.that shows in a lot of different and wierd ways...

No, it feels more like boiling water has been poured over me. But it hasn't.

x-post. The ulnar nerve runs from your neck across your shoulders and then down your arm over the front of your elbow and down to your two little fingers. I know your pain. It is not good :(

If the nerve has been compressed then it can cause horrid pain. Can you bear to do any stretching?

pressure on a nerve somewhere, neck?spine? i dont know much about shingles but it can cause pain like that too.might be too early for the rash?

Sounds painful! Have you tried NHS Direct? They might advise out of hours.

Tried stretching. hurts, but not like if it is touched. Doesn't help - when not touched, it is FINE, not painful. Only when touched, really, is it hurting.

Crap - hope it's not shingles. It's only on my right hand side.

Not a chemical burn - not been near any plants. Or chemicals.

Ben10 - what do you mean it's not good? This is a 'new' thing for me, to add to my other odd symptoms that have been 'ongoing' for YEARS.

Tiredness even after 11 hrs sleep, yet insomnia. 'atypical' 'drop' seizures that have been dxd as epilepsy, then re-dxd as 'non-epileptic attack disorder', then RE-DXD as epilepsy. Having to sleep for most of the next day if I do something as daft as going shopping. Feeling like doing everyday things like the school run is like wading uphill through treacle. Depression (not had problems with that for about 8 years though). Joint aches (EVERY joint). Given up with GP, just tries to shove AD's at me when I KNOW I am no longer depressed. IBS. Had pneumonia 18 months ago. LOTS of allergies (preservatives in food, wasp stings, kidney beans, hayfever).

But this is pissing me OFF. It hurts, even when my HAIR brushes against it FFS.

OH - other allergies - penicillin, amoxycillin, erythmoricin. Anaphylaxis with them.

Hunty By "not good" I meant that if it is nerve pain then I know how bad it feels.

Could it be Fibromyalgia? That seems to have loads of random symptoms that affect all parts of the body.

Hmm I have considered Fibro in the past for my other symptoms - but had no idea that this could also be a possible symptom. Yet when I mention Fibro to the GP, he just tries to throw AD's at me and claim I must be depressed. I'm not.

I'm going to have to go back to the GP, aren't I?

If it IS shingles - can I give my dc shingles if they HAVE had CP? What about 8mo DS3 - he's not even had CP yet - and he's bf and a bottle refuser.

You can catch chicken pox from someone with shingles. You can't catch shingles.

I thought shingles too...that is very painful. You would get blisters with it eventually.

You might be depressed due to the fibro.

Take a list of the symptoms from the website ticking each one which affects you to your GP - see a different one at the surgery if need be. They need to stop ignoring the very large list of symptoms that you have outlined.

Been googling - would it be advisable to cover the areas that are sore in case it IS shingles, it says I can only give DS3 CP from shingles if there is direct contact - but if I don't cover it then he MIGHT have direct contact when bf'ing. AARRGH!

Don't want it to be shingles.
