Skin pain like a burn but haven't BEEN burnt?

What on Earth is wrong with me? On my right arm, just to the side of my elbow, and also on the fingers of my right hand, on the top of my hand on the bits of my fingers that are between my knuckles on my hand and the first joint in my fingers, I have a pain when it is brushed even really gently that is Soooooo painful it's sending me through the roof. It feels like I have badly burnt my elbow and my fingers. But I haven't. There is no rash or mark, but it still hurts like I have burnt myself when I haven't.

What is wrong with me?

If he's breastfed and you do have something contagious, you'll also be producing antibodies which you will be passing to him through your milk. So best to keep feeding, if it is something contagious he will have been exposed before you started showing symptoms anyway.

Not sure which is worse - the thought that it could be more confirmation that I possibly have Fibro (been pondering that for about 2-3 years, trying to get GP to take me seriously). Or the fact that I could, as an LP, be dealing with shingles AND in which case, also possible CP in an 8mo baby (plus DS1 who has already HAD CP twice, and has no natural immunity to it). NNNnnnggg!

Sounds like Fibromyalgia-have you had it longer than 3 months?

Get a second opinion from another doc and get a referal.

The skin pain is a new thing today - but the other symptoms started to develop in childhood.

Age 9yo - Hayfever and asthma dxd.
Age 12yo - allergy to Penicillin dxd
Age 14yo - depression dxd
Age 15yo - my other allergies dxd and the 'walking uphill through treacle' feeling started.
Age 17yo - IBS dxd
Age 22yo - epilepsy originally dxd
Age 25yo - joint aches started
Age 27yo - the whole needing to sleep for half a day if I've just gone shopping.
Age 30 (now) - Stupid burny non-burn(!) pain.

Burn pain still there. Am a bit miserable now. Feel ok, if a little 'zapped' of energy today - bit more than usual as I had to pop out to the shop - just for 3 things, and I went by bus, but I'm exhausted now - physically exhausted but not mentally tired.

Fybromyalgia doesn't tend to cause joint pain as such.
Could be shingles, though it is a strange place for them to appear on a line called a [http://www.google.co.uk/m/search?site=images&source=mog&hl=en&gl=uk&client=safari&q=dermatone%20line%20shingles&sa=N%23i=0 dermatone which is a nerve pathway from the spine]
Certainly worth getting checked out and taking precautions for shingles. have you been tested for lupus?

once again with the link...

I had this on my leg this week, it was bloody painful at one point. I just assumed it was a weird viral/shingles type thing as I had got tired. I was having to have really early nights all week as I was getting really tired easily. It's better now though.

I get this pain a lot - mainly in my calf. GP first thought I had a B12 deficiency, then MS as then got numerous other symptoms but MRI was clear. It is some form of Neuropathy - maybe "functional" but a course of Pregabalin helped eventually as that helps with nerve pain.

Still get odd random symptoms, including the burning, but I have learned to live with it. However, do get a GP referral to get everything checked.

I get exactly the same sort of pain.. usually my forearm and it feels like I have been scalded, but there is nothing to see. I was also MRI-d for MS as have had balance problems and other odd symptoms too, but MRI was clear. Docs say the pain is nerve pain and I am on Gabapentin which helps with the nerve stuff.

Do ask for a referral to get checked out:)
