Am waiting in for gas man to do the annual service (between 12 and 6) - can't settle to anything...really want/need to go out to shops.

Also bit distressed because of email from Mindfulness teacher saying she was moving back to France,so no more follow up groups or meditation days. Am seeing if another teacher might be prepared to have me tag along to follow ups -but I will miss her as she is so charismatic and I 'know' her obviously. She's going to live at Plum Village, the retreat in SW France which sounds lovely - so am happy for her,but...

cakesandale · 31/08/2011 13:55

That sounds like what I need!

Grin and Shock at mad driving lady! What a shame....

Glad you got the book, KK. I bought the tag, from a craft stall on Monday, as my art skills are laughable. The lady just writes what you want on them while you wait.I think you will like the book, I was thinking 'yes, she's right, that's right, that's what i think' most of the way through. After we got past the section about porn, of course.... Grin

cakesandale · 31/08/2011 13:56

Maybe she could point you in the direction of a suitable stand-in, MAS? Hope so, anyway

MaryAnnSingleton · 31/08/2011 14:07

she has listed a few teachers she knows personally and I've emailed one to enquire- I know I can carry on with my own practice, but the follow ups are really helpful. After the last meditation day I don't think I'll miss those so much - the meditation is the main thing rather than the sharing and Zen-ness.
If you check out science museum shop, you might find spider catcher.

MaryAnnSingleton · 31/08/2011 14:09

no- have checked and they don't..thought I'd seen them there...

MaryAnnSingleton · 31/08/2011 14:12

this is a similar version to mine

SparkleRainbow · 31/08/2011 14:22

What a day.....I need a Brew, anyone with me?

KurriKurri · 31/08/2011 15:07

That's a shame about your mindfulness teacher MAS, - lovely for her obviously. I hope you can find a nice new one.

Section on porn Cakes? sounds interesting Grin

I'll have a Brew Sparkle - what's happened?

I accidentally just bought myself a large foam banana sweetie at the shop, which I am prepared to share Grin

Ooh, foam bananas - save me a nibble or two, Kurri. Grin Am back, but buried in washing. So much mud on everything, yet I still say camping's fun. Will read and try and catch up. Lovely to see you all again though. Smile

KurriKurri · 31/08/2011 15:31

Hi smee, nice to have you bacvk home where yiou belong.

You have to excuse the one handed typing....will explain. Ds is having a bad pain day, hence comment earlier, but since then i got him comfortable and went out to weed veggie garden, thought i would check on chickens and dsicovered one of my broodys had got of her nest with three new chicks leaving one half hatched, freezing cold chick in the nest, plus two eggs. helped chick to hatch, but she is too protective of other three to let me put it back under her outside, so am now sitting here with wet chick on knee on towel on hot water bottle under bedside light rubbing tummy and back of tiny chick......i am mad!

SparkleRainbow · 31/08/2011 16:04

has started cheeping, good signbut early days it is so cold......i truely am mad, when dh returns and says how did you spend your day Grin.....

SparkleRainbow · 31/08/2011 16:07

mind you have stopped short of shoving up my jumper, and tucking it in my bra...after left cup is more spacious these days.....

SparkleRainbow · 31/08/2011 16:08

"after all"

SparkleRainbow · 31/08/2011 16:14

hmm going mad with your sensible contributions, and actually seriuosly considering the whole bra idea.....

topsyturner · 31/08/2011 16:14

Aaawing at sparkle the "chick whisperer" Grin

Welcome home smee , was wondering if you would come back !

Shuddering at spiders , my DH has a mortal fear of spiders . He once threw (yes threw) DS at a spider he spotted scuttling across our living room floor Grin

Hope everything went ok at hospital today figgy

I have a drippy nose . I seem to remember one of you lovely ladies telling me this is because chemo has got rid of my nose hair , is that right ? Or was that another one of my weird dreams ???

Am sitting here watching a documentary about a woman going back to visit the childrens home she used to be in , and I am bound to cry by the end of it .
So I have fortified myself with Pringles (the crack cocaine of the crisp world) and oatflake biscuits .

SparkleRainbow · 31/08/2011 16:14

"with out" your sensible contributions.....

KurriKurri · 31/08/2011 16:15

Not mad at all, Sparkle - I would do the same, I hope little chick survives. (my sister has a farm and I once spent a day with a newborn piglet up my jumper trying to warn him up Grin)

Poor DS, I'm glad he's more comfy now, and hope he has a better day tomorrow.

topsyturner · 31/08/2011 16:16

Stick him in your bra sparkles !
I seem to remember seeing a wildlife programme where a lady did that with some orphaned creature

topsyturner · 31/08/2011 16:19

Am now musing on setting new business/charity where 1 boobied ladies can rent out their spare "cups" as little (or huuuuge if you are me) foster rooms Grin

SparkleRainbow · 31/08/2011 16:22

its feet are still a little spiky though, mind you if i did that i could get up and make myself a Brew just rolled it on its back, abd it is all chirpy now

SparkleRainbow · 31/08/2011 16:49

Opening its eyes and trying to sit up now, think it is going to make it...just the challenge of getting back under her later! Are you all jealous of how exciting my life is......Hmm Confused Wink

cakesandale · 31/08/2011 16:57

Thanks MAS, I am going to get me one of those!

Welcome back Smee, and good on yer Sparkles for all that top looking after the chick, esp when poor ds is so sore. i hope he is better tomorrow.

I have been trying to get a doctor's appointment for 2 days and still no joy. Angry For months my left eye has been running intermittently. i did see a doc back then but he didn't even look in, he just said 'allergy'. Since Friday night it has been awful, it seems to run for no reason at random times, and also whenever i bend my head forwards. It just pours down my face, I nearly drowned the Pilates class on Monday. I have been putting antibiotic eyedrops in it since last night, and if i don't get an appointment tomorrow i am going to camp on their doorstep until someone sees me.

SparkleRainbow · 31/08/2011 16:58

uploaded photo, cos I have nothing else I can do at the mo, and out of all biscuits and cakes.....Shock, dc are actually in shock!

SparkleRainbow · 31/08/2011 16:59

That doesn't sound right cakes, surely an allergy can't just affect one eye?
