Anastacia is really lovely and feeding well. Pie's SPD is quite painful again.

How long does the SPD take to settle down? Hope it isn't too long, and your blues pass quickly too, so you can get on with really enjoying Anastacia.

Pie... sorry to hear you have the blues, i hope it passes for you soon. You've been a real help for me although you probably didn't know it... your cheery perspective despite your difficult pregnancy has helped me to cope with a trying time too. Its awful to be in pain for so long, i can relate to that, especially when you're supposed to feel so elated. i hope the spd gives you a break soon. lots of love xxxx

CountessDracula · 08/10/2003 20:36

Oh poor Pie, you don't have it easy do you love?

BIG HUGS from Castle Dracula, hope things improve and the blues b*gger off sharpish (((((((())))))))

Marina · 08/10/2003 21:42

Pie, lots of hugs. You went through more than any of us can imagine to get your little Anastacia and still managed a wonderful birth. Baby blues are hateful but they do pass and then you will remember again what a great mum you are and how much you have achieved (and your doula's not bad either. If I knew they also accessed Mumsnet for you I'd have definitely saved up!)

pie · 08/10/2003 22:01

Wow...I don't know what to say. I really truly touched by everyones messages.

Crying!

I woke up this morning and the SPD pain was the worst its ever been, so pretty bad, maybe delayed bruising, I don't know. But not been able to move or even hold Anastacia, DD1 asking when I was going to get better and take her to school again, milk coming in yesterday, everything just hit me. That I still have so much healing to do, that I won't be able to take baby out to show her off, that I've already 'missed' months of DD1...just sucks.

Dh is being great, pupuce is being great, mumsnet is being great. I'm working towards being great too, wish I could get there faster.

Thanks again everyone.

janh · 08/10/2003 22:12

pie, I am so sorry you are still in pain, I haven't followed your SPD thing in detail but assumed it would stop when the baby arrived, rotten for you that it hasn't on top of all the other new baby discomforts. Hope you will be able to hold Anastacia and take DD1 to school soon.

pupuce · 08/10/2003 22:23

Marina - you know me ... I'm everywhere

Pie- I am really pleased you were able to post

Not surprised you've got the blues pie - still so many things for you to cope with.

Does the spd work similarly (but obviously on a far worse scale) to varicose veins - in that immediately post-birth (1-2 weeks) was actually the most painful part (for me) as the body kind of abruptly re-adjusts to its non-pregnant state?

Hope you've got plenty of support, physical and emotional, around you.

Sending big hugs and positive vibes for a better day tomorrow and the day after and the day after ....

mammya · 08/10/2003 23:23

Pie, hope you start feeling better soon. (((((())))))

jasper · 08/10/2003 23:28

Pie , you ARE great!
You have reminded me of those emotional few days after giving birth - I had forgotten how fragile I sometimes felt.
Take it easy and hug that baby girl!

ScummyMummy · 09/10/2003 01:13

You are a lovely one, Pie as any fool know. Milk coming in and spd are a rubbish combination but you will be feeling better soon, I hope. Love you loads. x

JanZ · 09/10/2003 09:56

Congratulations Pie - I'd been away and hadn't seen the news. You've done tremendously well already - things WILL get better! {{{{}}}}
