Where are SR and RWU at the moment?

SparkleRainbow · 13/06/2011 17:23

.......and smee what happened to the eggs saga....did I miss the ending?

smee · 13/06/2011 17:36

Am on Sparkle's terrace, drying out. Smile

Sparkle, you have so much to cope with. Am full of admiration. I hope they all appreciate you. To answer your questions; SR is giddily rushing round her house, now PV has gone. Not sure about RWU, though I do like to think of her galloping across the moors, swinging one of her many handbags. Grin

Eggs are still a bit of a mystery - one returned, with a smiley face drawn on it. DS is still blaming the cat though.

Huge amounts of luck for tomorrow, Amber. Really hope that port behaves itself, so it all speeds through. x

SparkleRainbow · 13/06/2011 17:47

Grin that is one talented cat you have.....!

Gosh I have missed the departure of PV.....that was a huge effort on SR's part to not commit PVcide! I love the image of RWU, that will be my dd1 in the future.

How about LGF and LJ? Have I missed them.....are they lurking?

Life certainly is busy, I feel like I am sinking/drowning most of the time, but have to carry on don't we, can't stop cos who else will pick up where we leave off?

MaryAnnSingleton · 13/06/2011 18:39

I think RWU is busy working and driving her new car ! miss her though...
good luck tomorrow amber and good thoughts to sparkle's dh -hope his medication does it's job - you too, keep going,we're here with cake and whatnot.

smee · 13/06/2011 20:15

Hooray for food, though am not sure about mint sauce on sausages. Grin

Topsy, definitely keep busy 'til Wednesday. You'll feel better once you know it all. There's something really helpful about knowing what's ahead, rather than guessing the options.

topsyturner · 14/06/2011 07:52

< Grunt , Groan , Mumble , Shuffle >

Too many post surgery drinkies last night .

Grin
MaryAnnSingleton · 14/06/2011 08:46

oh topsy Grin !

Tried to get appointment with GP but mine is away and all the other doctors are booked up today - I could see the nurse, but I feel it'd be better to speak to a doc,do you think ?
Wil try again tomorrow...
love to all having treatment/not feeling too good today.

had a thought- could drop in on my way to post box this morning and see if anyone has cancelled !

OP posts:
KurriKurri · 14/06/2011 09:01

Loads of luck today Amber -I hope it all goes smoothly.

God plan to go for a cancellation MAS - I hope yo get one.

Topsy - have a day of rest, (have you tried hair of the dog? Grin)

Love to all for a good day

amberlight · 14/06/2011 09:26

Sparkle, have a Brew and a sit down...sounds like you need one?

cakesandale · 14/06/2011 10:10

sparkles - deep sympathies over dh's relapse. Early symptoms can be hard to miss though. DH suffers a bit from time to time and the early signs are subtle to say the least.

MAS - i think it would be best to see a proper doc - hope you get a cancellation.

And I hope keepingsecret gets to have a local mammo. Those mobile units are great, so much less hospitally somehow. And in the meantime, welcome. With all those cakes you'll fit in just great here even if (as is probable) you are fine. Sparkles is an interloper too - she was found not to have bc, but has stayed around to humour us so it's not essential Wink

Topsy, I hope you enjoyed the wine even if you are paying for it now.

Pink and amber - you are still going great guns, keep it up, it's not too long now.

Latest news on my back is that I won't be getting more injections - the last one should have given me 3 to 6 months of relief, so they feel it isn't worth it if it is only giving me 4 weeks. I can see their point, it is quite a palaver for such a short return. I am on the surgery list to have two of my vertebrae fused. It also means I have to have another MRI nearer the surgery date to give them the very latest picture, and that bothers me more than anything. Last time my claustrophobia almost had me scrabbling for the exit Sad I may have to get drunk beforehand Grin

KurriKurri · 14/06/2011 10:49

Oh Cakes - surgery is a bit of a bugger, but if it sorts the problem out then worth it I should think. Did they say how long the waiting list is? And what about afterwards, - will you be out of action for a long time? (on the positive side, my yoga teacher has had vertebrae fused and she is very supple and active, op seems to have been a complete success for her.)

Sparkle - also very sorry to hear of your DH's relapse, depression is a lousy illness to have and very hard to deal with if it is someone in your family. (My DS was DX with bipolar at about 18yrs, - however much you love someone, it can be very hard to cope sometimes) I hope things settle down again for him as soon as possible.

Cakes - I see you are a crow fan like me Grin

I have some more sewing to do today - bags to store the puppets in, - I am finding it hard to get motivated to start on it.

Can everyone send healthy car vibes our way - its the MOT today, DH gets very anxious about it.

I have been given £30 of Amazon vouchers, so am going to have a small shopping spree. Any suggestions on what I should buy (doesn't have to be just books) I might get a Kate Rusby CD (she is a folk singer with a beautiful voice, if you look her up on Youtube, listen to 'you belong to Me' it's fabulous.)

amberlight · 14/06/2011 11:06

KK, yes, music would be splendid I reckon. Sending healthy car vibes.

Cakes, eek re MRI - I'm the same.

Right, I need to go home and get ready....'see' you soon folks.

MaryAnnSingleton · 14/06/2011 11:20

good luck amber Smile
Healthy vibes for car coming your way KK
Cakes- I do hope surgery will help- think my brother is in similar situation.
Btw- no cancellations today- will try first thing tomrrow.
Amazon vouchers- whoopee ! Music would be good and books !
I am hoping to get a chance to read 'Julian Corkle is a Filthy Liar' in between bookgroup books -I have met the author after 'meeting' her on facebook through mutual friends-have since met her in real life and she is lovely- I really liked her-she's same age as me-within a week or so and says we are almost twins-aww..
here !

OP posts:
cakesandale · 14/06/2011 11:25

Good luck, amber

Music would be lovely, KK, then you can enjoy it while you are looking after all your lovely veg. How nice to get vouchers, such a treat. Guilt-free shopping.

KK thank you for the story of your yoga teacher, that is encouraging. The waiting list is 3-4 months (I predict an appointment bang in the middle of my October holiday) but I am not sure about post-operative recovery time. I imagine there is a bit of stiffness to overcome. I didn't get a lot of gen as I saw a physio rather than the big man, but it should be do-able. It's not as if I have to rely on a stern boss for their goodwill (there's only me, and I have myself wrapped round my little finger).

That baby crow sounds lovely, doesn't he? Sad he got hurt, of course, but such a bright little personality t have about the place.

Sending healthy car vibes a-plenty

cakesandale · 14/06/2011 11:26

And that book link....

KurriKurri · 14/06/2011 11:39

That book looks fun MAS Smile.

Hope you get an appointment tomorrow MAS, and Cakes - considering the summer holidays are coming up, you might get a cancellation, as people often turn down summer dates. My hernia op. was supposed to be 3 months, but in the end was only five weeks (quite nice in some ways if it comes unexpectedly early, gives you less time to get anxious.)

KurriKurri · 14/06/2011 11:42

Cakes - the crow is a raven apparently - how fab!

cakesandale · 14/06/2011 12:07

A raven! I am seriously jealous, That's posh, that is.

I have looked at the music link and the book one and thought they both look fab.

topsyturner · 14/06/2011 12:13

Time for a few more questions , if you don't mind ladies ?

I have my appointment in the morning (9am) with my Consultant Surgeon for my 2 week post op review . And she said she will have my path results and will be able to tell me what my next course of treatment will be .

In the mean time I have just received in the post an appointment for this coming Monday (20th) with an Oncologist .

Do you think this means I will be starting chemo straight away ? And is this normal ?
I know nothing about breast cancer is normal , but would like to know your own experiences .

Sorry to be such a worry wort , but all of this is happening so quickly (and I know this should be another reason to be grateful) that I really don't know which end is up right now .

MaryAnnSingleton · 14/06/2011 12:26

that's normal I reckon topsy- in my experience I saw the surgeon for my results a week after op and then the following week saw the onc. where we talked about the treatment I'd be having. Don't fret Smile

OP posts:
cakesandale · 14/06/2011 12:31

I agree with MAS. All normal and proof that the system is working smoothly for you. Don't worry. Good luck tomorrow, we are all rooting for you.
