SparkleRainbow · 27/04/2011 18:50

Me too smee [cgrin]

I got my splints through the gp, he wrote a prescription for them, I will try to find a link to show you what they look like. Sometimes it is actually quite painful, but the rest of the time it just feels numb and pins and needles at the same time [chmm]

Website details please MAS!

SparkleRainbow · 27/04/2011 18:52

www.betterlifehealthcare.com/view_product.php?prodID=7626

Should be the one if I did the link correctly.......[cblush]

SparkleRainbow · 27/04/2011 18:52

Yep that is the one......see this is why we get through so many threads!

KurriKurri · 27/04/2011 19:12

Thank you Sparkle - I'll ask him about one of those next time I go (unless it gets better before then )

MaryAnnSingleton · 28/04/2011 07:11

oh,I do hope it does KK
Meditation booster was good -3 people from my group and other 'graduates' from the last course -was helpful in reinforcing a few things. There's an all day Zen based meditation day coming up too.
Hope everyone is feeling ok today, specially those having treatment/with hurting hands.
Am going to clean and tackle the website. Am also preparing a card I've designed to have printed -am donating the printed cards to our local bc charity to use -(it offers complementary therapies/hair advice/counselling to people who have been treated for bc in our area-supported by the breast unit) Have one design, but might try another.

Morning all. How are we?

Blimey, that was an experience yesterday having the portacath put in. They got me into the room, put the sedative in...nothing. Still wide awake. Put in a bigger dose, nothing at all. So we did a one and a half hour operation using only local anaesthetic. I would describe that as 'interesting' if I had to pick a positive word. [cconfused]. Not a lot of sleep 'cos it jolly well hurts, but at least it's in.

I think I need Brew

SpongeBobSparePants · 28/04/2011 10:03

Poor amber. Take it easy and have lots of Brew as well as sympathy. It's all a step nearer the end of it all, remember.

Sorry I have been awol - deeply hectic school hols and also I have had that injection thing in my back. I am not sure, but it may be a BIT better.

I hope the wrist splints help KK - I have to wear them sometimes when I have been typing too much (not recently, obv) and they, along with exercises of my own devising, really do help.

PM me if you like and I'll try to describe them to you, they don't take long.

The mindfulness boost sounds helpful MAS.

Is anyone watching the wedding tomorrow, or have you got other plans? I'll start - DH and I are not very into Royal occasions so we are going to the Safari Park instead Blush Dd is pretty excited.

I will catch up with the thread now dd is back at school (though not learning, just waving flags and eating party food from what I can gather)

KurriKurri · 28/04/2011 10:27

Poor you Amber - that sounds like a horrible experience Sad - on the positive side, having the port there will make things much more comfortable - no digging around with the needle for veins!

I'm glad the mindfulness session was good MAS - its good to know you can get a 'refresher' every so often. The cards are a lovely idea, I' sure they'll be a big hit, your work is so fab.

We are not really Royal Wedding types Spongebob (just the opposite in fact), I think I'll get on with my puppets and the gardenGrin - I've just turned on the news and it seems to non stop pre wedding news. As DD says - 'surely there is something else happening in the world'.

Hope everyone else is feeling OK today. I haven't really woken up properly yet Blush I feel a large Brew coming on.

MaryAnnSingleton · 28/04/2011 10:37

ow ow ow amber [csad] - sounds horrible- hope you get some sleep and it's less painful v soon.
spongecakes- hope the back injection starts to work and that dd has a nice Royal day at school.
Am going to have a go at my website and think of the cards and then clean (am putting that bit off as it is sooooo boring)

OP posts:
amberlight · 28/04/2011 10:47

At work, so not a lot of chance of sleep unless I kip on the desk. Don't ask why I'm at work. [chmm]

Royal wedding - absolutely!! Should be great fun.

SpongeBobSparePants · 28/04/2011 11:21

I hope to check out the frock, but that is all....

smee · 28/04/2011 12:21

MAS when you said 'clean and tackle the website' I thought you were going to dust it! Confused

Big ouch for Amber. Blimey am glad I never had a port. Sounds horrible. You deserve something far stronger than Brew

We're near enough to go and watch the Royal Wedding, but will be fleeing in the opposite direction. We're heading to Norfolk, but will stop in Ely en route as I love the Cathedral. Smile

DS's class are the only ones not to dress up as Kings and Queens today as they've gone on a trip. One boy still turned up immaculate in a shiny suit and tie. So cute.

Hope everyone on treatment's okay-ish today.

amberlight · 28/04/2011 12:30

(Must admit a large glass of Wine was downed last night. Might follow it with another one this evening! )

KurriKurri · 28/04/2011 12:32

Ely is a beautiful cathedral Smee, - you'll probably have it all to yourselves - everyone will be watching the wedding Grin

MaryAnnSingleton · 28/04/2011 12:50

have a fab time smee- I love a cathedral.
The website isn't very easy- my head hurts ! will have to ask dh to assist...
Have just spoken to my bcn for my pep talk-honestly,I think I sound so self obsessed- but she does understand all my ocd-ness and has always been a brilliant support- oh and she's chasing up my mammogram results.
Righto-will have a bit of lunch, then clean -am putting it off as you can see !!

OP posts:
smee · 28/04/2011 12:55

Amber, have two Wine Wine. Anything that gets you through, I say.

MAS, I wouldn't know where to start with a website, so you're streaks ahead of me. Smile

SpongeBobSparePants · 28/04/2011 13:25

Me too - I am impressed that you have even started, MAS. And I am a bit Angry that your mammo results still aren't through!

Enjoy Ely, smee. It is such a lovely cathedral. And enjoy Norfolk!

Amber -smee's right. Have several. It's dh's birthday today so I'll most likely be joining you in spirit, in spite of my diet resolution. I've decided that losing weight can only help my back, so am really, REALLY trying again

MaryAnnSingleton · 28/04/2011 13:31

happy birthday mr spongecake ! Wine and yes, lots of Wine for amber

OP posts:
smee · 28/04/2011 13:31

SpongeBob, meant to say that I really hope the injection works, or at least has some effect. Which one did you have? It's a few years ago now since I had mine, but I still remember it was a bit terrifying if only because the needles are so long. Mind you I did have a v.dishy Consultant, which certainly helped. Wink

Happy Birthday to Mr SpongeBob. Birthdays and diets don't mix imo. Wine all round.

MaryAnnSingleton · 28/04/2011 13:45

I'm toasting Mr spongecake's birthday with chocolate buttons t

OP posts:
KurriKurri · 28/04/2011 13:48

SpongeBob - I managed to totally miss the bit in your post where you said you had your injection Blush I hope it wasn't too painful, and it is effective (did they say how long before you should start feeling benefits?)

Happy Birthday Mr SpongBob - I hope the birthday fairy brought him nice things and a bog cake Grin

MAS - I'm glad they're chasing your mammo results up - you've been waiting ages!

talking of Cathedrals, Norwich Cathedral has Peregrine Falcons nesting on it - they put up a nest box (on a sort of 'if you build it, they will come' principle I think) and they arrived. think there might be a sort of nest box camera so you can watch them, we're going to investigate at some point. Smile

Amber - definitely yes to a Wine Smile

KurriKurri · 28/04/2011 13:49

I don't actually hope you're DH has a 'bog' cake SpongeBob - that would be foul, I do however hope he has a big cake Grin

KurriKurri · 28/04/2011 13:50

your not you're

amberlight · 28/04/2011 14:02

I was hoping for a slice of the bog cake! Masterchef had desserts with moss in them, so thought it was a new recipe Grin

Happy Birthday Mr SpongeBob!
