Oh and while I was answering a message to one of them, the dog licked my slice of fruit cake Angry

MaryAnnSingleton · 19/05/2011 12:28

Grin @ dog !

OP posts:
cakesandale · 19/05/2011 12:39

I have sympathy for the dog. I could just go a slice of cake.

smee · 19/05/2011 12:56

I'm with the dog too - quite restrained of it just to lick.

cakes, here's a thought. I had a Great Aunt who's idea of dieting was to chew but not swallow. She lost pounds. Grin

Kurri you're a saint - maybe you should charge them in treats. Tell them you want cake for every piece of advice given. Smile

cakesandale · 19/05/2011 13:00

Well I'm willing to try anything. Great Aunt's technique would be awkward to pull off in polite company, though Grin

I think you should at very least get an honourable mention in the plaudits at the end, KK.....

Actually I have a LOT of writing to do myself, do you fancy helping me out? Thought not.

cakesandale · 19/05/2011 13:12

DH has just had 2 slices of chocolate swiss roll Envy

I had to go out and water the plants until they were safely out of sight.

KurriKurri · 19/05/2011 13:16

One of them has said she is going to put me in her acknowledgments as 'C's Mum' Grin

I'm afraid I can't do any of your writing Cakes - I'm too traumatised from the fruitcake incident.

Smee - what did your aunt do with the chewed food? - did she have some sort of spittoon?

KurriKurri · 19/05/2011 13:18

Oh and the dog wasn't restrained, she was going for a full snatch - but when she licked it, I shouted at her so she stomped off Grin

smee · 19/05/2011 13:21

Grin at dog. Is she still sulking?

Not sure what Great Aunt N did with the food. We never found out...

KurriKurri · 19/05/2011 13:26

She's giving me sidelong glances to let me know she's not happy with me Grin
Dh popped home for lunch and of course she rushed up to him with a 'she's been mean to me' look on her face, so he picked he up and cuddled her Grin

cakesandale · 19/05/2011 13:32

In that case I think your JR must have taught my DD everything she knows...

MaryAnnSingleton · 19/05/2011 13:46

maybe aunt discreetly deposited the chewed bits up her sleeve or in her handbag...
Our thread is fast approaching 1000 again...

cakesandale · 19/05/2011 14:14

I can imagine the scene Grin

I'd love to get an inside track on what they are saying when they do that grumbling thing. Expect it's quite rude....

KurriKurri · 19/05/2011 14:46

Aww -sweet little chick Sparkle - and your house looks gorgeous too Smile

Pink - Grin at your dog, - I'm glad I'm not the only one with a dog that thinks it rules the roost!

MAS - your story reminded me I have this Annora Spence print hanging in my hallway Dog at the Table , I got it because it was so like our dog in attitude Smile

SparkleRainbow · 19/05/2011 18:05

I suspect that a thread about hypermobility on sen children has got a post from someone just claiming zinc supplements will cure all. It is quite subtle, but I have spent time researching their claims and can find no evidence, and I was already quite up to date with the subject. Can I pick your trolling/advertising expertise, I know you guys have experiences of this on here? I don't want to report a post as it may be someone who really believes this. I have quite nicely asked for where they are getting their research from, should I just leave it at that and see what happens, or just keep out. I don't want vulnerable parents wanting answers and "cures" that do not exist being lulled into something, but equally alternative therapy may have its place. I am trying to be fair. What do you think my cyber gurus? (? plural of guru?)

KurriKurri · 19/05/2011 18:15

Sparkle - I would just report the post, mentioning your concerns, and then MNHQ can decide whether it needs to be pulled or not Smile

MaryAnnSingleton · 19/05/2011 19:06

sparkle-agree with KK
