coorong..so sorry that your going to have to wait longer the waiting is the worst time.

errr after all that fuss over the wig i ended up deciding not to get it cut,my mum sorted me out . after wearing it yesterday and being seen out and about i got alot of compliments so thats made me feel so much better.glad i amused a for of you while i had my wig breakdown.

i get my ct scan results today this is the most terrifying day of my life, omg im so scared .

MaryAnnSingleton · 15/04/2011 08:42

am pleased you are feeling happier about wig-that's grreat pink....meanwhile will be thinking of you very much and hoping for good results for you xxxx

OP posts:
LimeJellyforBrains · 15/04/2011 09:06

Pink thinking of you today and know how you feel. Hoping all is clear. Big hugs x

lilruthie - hope all goes well for your op today. We are here if you need us x

coorong - Aarghh! to having to wait again for more results. Hope you can put it on the back burner and enjoy your holiday in the meantime. If they found something potentially dodgy and it gets dealt with before it becomes anything worse, that's actually brilliant news. And you'll probably get regular check ups in future, so that's good too Smile

Kurri - if Sparkle can put rockets up the LA etc then I am prepared to bow to her superior reporting clout Wink

EasterChickAndRabbitKurri · 15/04/2011 11:02

I'm thinking of you too Pink, wishing you the very best today. xx

LGF - I hope chemo goes well today. and you are in and out reasonably quickly.

LJ - you make a good point - I think it probably was Sparkle's clout Grin

I won an advance copy of a novel from Waterstones today - I have to write a review on their website. It's called 'The Mistresses revenge' Grin - not sure it's going to be quite my sort of thing - it looks a bit 'Fatal Attraction' from the blurb.

Figgyroll · 15/04/2011 18:26

Sorry to hear you've got another wait, Coorong.

I hope Pink is okay and it went well.

LGF, hope the chemo went well and you don't suffer as much this time round.

I've been to the doctors again with the DV pain in my side, he's prescribed strong antibees which kept me awake all night. Apparently, according to DH, I spent the whole night talking in my sleep. The pain is less, my temperature is normal and the nurse came today to give me my Filgrastim injection so, with all that going on, I hope I can keep the neutropenia at bay this time. I just feel so washed out and have spent the day pootling about. But there's only so much pootling I can do - I want to get out and about. Ggrrrrrrr.

LittleGreenFr0g · 15/04/2011 20:37

Just a quick update...all went ok today although I find myself dreading it more and more. I feel more tired this time but less nauseous thanks to the new tablets. However tiredness brings on my 'restless' leg! I got this a lot in pregnancy, and I just don't know what to do with my leg :)

Pink - thinking of you x

Figgy - I feel for you and your pootling around...thats all I seem to have done today :)

MaryAnnSingleton · 15/04/2011 22:55

KK -have you inherited Mr KK's winning talent ? hope the book is decent !
(as in tolerable)
Well done LGF and sorry that you are having to pootle figgy- frustrating I'm sure.
Been to Ikea today- lunch (dh had meatballs -he loves them) and search for a desk, chair and lamp for ds-also got various bits and pieces as you do -washing up brush, cuddly toy for Celeste...am exhausted !

OP posts:
pinkstarlight · 15/04/2011 23:04

thank you everyone was really good news my scan came nack clear and my lump has halved its size after only one chemo session. i still have a way to go but im feeling very positive and have also now been told its at stage 1 where before they was talking about stage 3.right now im feeling very very lucky.

EasterChickAndRabbitKurri · 15/04/2011 23:08

Pink - I'm just off to bed, but that is brilliant news -you must be so relieved - have a lovely worry free weekend Smile x

MaryAnnSingleton · 15/04/2011 23:35

hey that's brilliant pink !!!!!!!!!!!! Wine x 1000 !

OP posts:
LimeJellyforBrains · 16/04/2011 07:50

Wow Pink! That's brilliant news! So happy for you! Grin Smile

pinkstarlight · 16/04/2011 14:57

i feel so much more confident now and so happy but its funny peoples reaction to my news almost like everythings gone back to normal .i was kind of enjoying being fussed over by family and friends, the kids have all cleared off and left me,my 15 year old demanding clothes money and a family member just spent 2 hours telling me all their problems they have had since i was was diagnosed that they had hidden from me.

even the dog ran off with my hat this morning just as my son burst in the house with his friends, luckily i managed to grab my wig and put it on in a wonky kind of fashion before i terrified the living daylights out of them.

i hope figgy and littlegreen frog start feeling better soon,i have my second chemo monday and im truly dreading it after feeling so ill last time.

Figgyroll · 16/04/2011 17:07

LGF, hope your restless leg settles down today. I've never had it but people really suffer from it when they get it. Take things easy for a few days and hopefully the tiredness with lift. Pootling is the order of the day Grin

MAS, I'd love a trip to Ikea. Their meatballs are lovely. No matter how hard I try not to I can't help come away with all sorts of indispensable little gadgets. That's why I love Lakeland too.

Grin Grin Pink, I'm so pleased for you. That's great news about the shrinking. Very annoying though about everyones' reaction. Angry I had to laugh at your dog running off with your hat just when your sons friends arrived. I live in fear of the doorbell ringing and not being able to find a hat or my wig so can sympathise. I will be thinking of you on Monday and sending positive thoughts your way in the hope that they help.

Well, I am now a champion pootler. I think I could pootle for England. I feel washed out and tired but the side effects of the antibees are drowsiness so I am putting it down to that as well as everything else I am taking. I have also discovered I am very good at making lists for DH and giving out orders (in a nice way, of course Wink.)

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

LittleGreenFr0g · 16/04/2011 17:34

Pink - that is such great news! I said the CT scan would be clear Wink. I was the same - life got that bit more normal for me too. My lump has also shrunk a lot too...not quite half but its good to know that we are responding well to treatment, isn't it :)

I guess that is what gets you through the yucky treatment. I have felt ok this time. They gave me stronger anti sickness which worked. I just felt very tired last night but I would rather feel tired than sick :)

Have a good weekend xx

EasterChickAndRabbitKurri · 16/04/2011 18:21

I'mEnvyof IKEA MAS - we don't have one round here, I'm glad DS enjoyed his lunch Smile I'm not sure about me catching DH's winning streak - the book looks a bit odd, but maybe it will be OK - I have to write a 100-150 words review on Waterstone's website!

Pink - I laughed at the dog stealing your hat Grin - but don't let them stop fussing round you, you still need lots of TLC.

Its great to hear your tumour has shrunk, and LGF's too. Its quite comforting for those of us who had surgery first then chemo - I've always kind of felt 'how do I know its working?' but you both having visible results is very reassuring Smile

Figgy - sorry your DV is troubling you again, I hope the Ab's sort it out. I understand about pootling loosing its charm when its enforced,- only fun when you've got some choice in the matter!

LGF - hope the restless legs settle- it is annoying isn't it. I had it after I'd finished chemo, when I was on herceptin, and still get it occasionally now. I got some massage oil from the health shop and rubbed it into my calf muscles - seemed to help a little bit (I think it was comfrey oil - but maybe you should check its OK while on chemo if you feel like trying it - I don't think it would be a problem.)

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend, I had some shopping to do, so trudged round the city - very hot and busy, not much fun. Have spent this afternoon weeding and grubbing about in the garden - much more my thing Grin

SparkleRainbow · 17/04/2011 18:13

Wow Pink this is fantastic news I am so pleased for you, so good to know that the chemo is working so well for you.

Figgy I hope you are feeling better

LGF restless legs are horrid, my dh gets it reguilarly, and it just makes him feel unsettled, unrested, and he can't sleep. None of these being things you need at the moment, I hope your leg has settled down and is doing as it is told now!

How are you doing LJ?

Sorry about all the typos, I just am not used to this new keyboard yet!

SparkleRainbow · 17/04/2011 18:16

I have started the BBQ, and been told I am doing it all wrong by dh.....he has taken over, not in my plan at all......honest Wink

Have been frantically busy, helping with the prep for the patio, weeding veggie beds like a fanatic and planting seeds in the greenhouse.......must not forget to water them now........! Hmm

Ds fell over and dislocated his knee cap, dc have been in the paddling pool, little one is filthy after helping in the garden....all ok here.

MaryAnnSingleton · 17/04/2011 19:24

ow,poor ds sparkle Sad
Hope barbecue turns out ok.
Dh very stressed as Celeste has pooed on the door mat again- I feel quite stressed but pretend I don't as I can't cope if dh is anxious...what can I do ?

OP posts:
EasterChickAndRabbitKurri · 17/04/2011 19:53

Poor DS Sparkle, - I hope he's OK now. Also hope the barbecue went well - funny how men are born barbecue experts isn't it? Grin

MAS I think once they have pooed somewhere once, they will keep going back. Two tips I've heard of are, - to clean it with a solution of biological washing powder - gets rid of any trace of smell. Also to put kitchen foil down on the mat, as they don't like walking on it so are discouraged. Do you think she's been a bit more 'accident prone' since her op?

I potted on 60 miniature cornflower plants today, and did some more work on the worm - should have him finished soon Smile

Hope everyone has had a nice w/e.

pinkstarlight · 17/04/2011 21:01

figgy...not having a wig or hat to hand is my worst nightmare.

lgf..you did say my scan would be clear im so pleased our treatments are working.

kurri... your right at least i know my treatments working it really helps to make you feel more positive.

sparkle..thanks sounds like you have had a busy day.

had a really nice day today but not looking forward to having my second chemo tomorrow,im hoping im more prepared this time with new sickness meds etc

LimeJellyforBrains · 17/04/2011 21:02

Sixty cornflower plants Kurri? Yikes that's a lot! Are they all for your garden? It must be very big if so.

Have also been busy potting, weeding and planting etc. Now have a sore back/hip! We also had a bbq tonight, sky was getting rather looming as DH set it up, thought we were going to have to abandon, but turned out very well, if a bit basic - just stuff I had in the fridge/freezer, apart from some strawberries and corn-on-the-cob DH bought yesterday.

Hope your bbq went well Sparkle - I have managed to feign complete ignorance as to how to set up a bbq for years, despite being 'the practical one' Grin. Hope that DS's knee is OK now, poor mite.

Am also Envy of your trip to Ikea MAS. Haven't been for ages, not sure if I could manage the drive to one yet, but have a great need to go there! Apart from all the fripperies small essentials, since we moved into this house last year I have a whole wall waiting for bookshelves, and a whole stack of boxes in the garage containing our books. Between DH working and the boys' activities, there never seems time at the weekends Sad and I'm not paying their extortionate delivery charges Angry

But the big news here is......we have a hamster! First pet for the DSs, can't believe we didn't get them something earlier. DH and DS2 were having a little chat in the garden yesterday, and somehow "getting a pet" was the result. We narrowed it down to guinea pig or hamster and went for the indoor option. She is very sweet Smile DH has realised I am the most besotted already and will be the one crying the most when she eventually snuffs it Blush. Actually, I think this may be the reason I have put off getting a pet until now......

And of course I was able to tell the boys that I can't possibly be expected to clean her out at all, what with the chemo and danger of infection.....Grin

Glad to hear you are feeling better (ie less sick) this time LGF. My next session is Thursday. I would definitely be dreading it more if only I would let myself think about it - not yet, not yet....

My mum is coming to stay here tomorrow until Weds afternoon. I am driving up halfway with the boys, and my sister will bring Mum halfway, and we'll do an 'exchange' at a Harvester's, after having a little lunch out. Seems like a good plan to me, I love a salad bar - oh no! Have just remembered I shouldn't! Grrr, has really only just occurred to me as I type this. Have been looking forward to the salad bar since I hatched the plan on Friday Sad. As I am over two weeks after my last session, do you think I could risk it? Have not felt sicky or owt for days now....

LimeJellyforBrains · 17/04/2011 21:09

Oh pink sorry I missed you, cross posted, is it really already your turn again tomorrow? Hope everything goes ok and really really hope for better sickness control for you this time! Hugs x

Would also like to second what Kurri said about being hugely comforted by hearing about these shrinking tumours - it's so hard to have this treatment with no idea if it's actually doing any good....

EasterChickAndRabbitKurri · 17/04/2011 21:35

Oh lots of luck tomorrow Pink - I'll be thinking of you, hope it all goes well and the sickness is well controlled this time Smile

Hamster's are sweet LJ Smile - we've had a couple in our time (and guinea pigs and gerbils), they can get very tame if you handle them every day - your DS's will love having a pet Smile

I think you might well be fine with the salad. I was told it was only a problem if you were neutropenic - and since you are two weeks in, and I presume you don't have a temp. or feel poorly, then your blood count should be on the rise again. Anyway have a lovely lunch whatever you decide, it will be nice to see your mum.

We don't have an especially big garden, but it does have quite a few borders, I also plant up quite a few tubs and I plan on giving plants to DS and his Dp for their garden, and taking some down to my mum's so I can plant up her border. So they will all get used up - I have loads more to pot on too - don't know when I'll get it all done.

love to all x

MaryAnnSingleton · 17/04/2011 21:41

pink - thinking of you tomorrow
LJ - have a lovely time with your mum- we used to go to the harvester with our little ones (me and my friends when the children were tiny- loved it -esp. the salad bar !!) Are you worried about having it because of getting germs ? sorry, that sounds all wrong, but you know what I mean !
KK - yes, think you're right about the pooing habit- will try the washing stuff next time- she has been very good really,no weeing other than in her tray and if she does poo it's on the mat,so not a disaster, but still, wopuld rather she didn't !

OP posts:
LimeJellyforBrains · 17/04/2011 21:53

I'm glad you think I'll be fine with the salad bar Kurri - I was thinking along the same lines myself. I am going for it.

Have just remembered I 'diced with death' and had half a packet of Serrano ham last Friday, and I'm still here! Grin Also, when someone (Figgy?) mentioned not having a certain cheese on their risotto I went and checked the parmesan-type cheese (Gran Panadano?) I have in the fridge and yep, it's made with raw milk, but I have been eating that too....I'm sure most things produced and packaged for supermarkets will be ok. Raw milk cheese from a farmers' market maybe not...
