sparkle..im not quite sure what to put on my scalp but im at the doctors tomorrow having a bood test ready for mondays chemo i will ask then.

figgy..i have only had chemo once but i swear its the steroids that made me feel really ill,i was told that it was them that caused my acid problems not only that i was taking them on a empty stomach.i hope you feel better in yourself soon.

limejelly..i did have a go at turning my wig round but that mademe look like ken dodd.

anyway the good news was i ventured out in my wig for the first time my dog shamed me into it as he was following my every move so took him for a nice walk in the woods.

EasterChickAndRabbitKurri · 14/04/2011 09:21

I reported you last night Hendricks - we don't need to buy stuff, we get free prescriptions for the things we need.

Hi MAS Grin

Ooh yay for KK! Grin

Thanks from me too for the lovely email MAS. So talented. Smile

I nearly spat my cup of tea out over pink's description of her wig tribulations! Pink, I am sorry, I feel your pain, my wig just had so much hair in it it looked like an 80s version of Chrissie Hynde, mullet and all. I hope you get it cut nicely, and that the missing fringe reappears. I never got to grips with mine, but I saw many lovely ones in the chemo unit: you would never have known they were wigs at all.

I am off away for a few days, so love to all. x

pinkstarlight · 14/04/2011 11:20

sponge bob..i think its just me objectng to wearing a wig,it feels like im carrying a dead animal on my head.

ventured out again to the doctors to have bloods taken and was stopped 3 times and told how nice my hair looks. now i dont know what to do to get it cut or not. tried ringing my best friend as shes off this week because i know she will tell me the truth, but shes out getting the exhaust fixed on her car and said she will come straight round when shes done and take me shopping but she could be a couple of hours yet and my appointment is at 1.15.what if they mess up my wig, feels like my life is just one drama after another did i really once live a normal calm life.going to ring my mum hope shes in.

EasterChickAndRabbitKurri · 14/04/2011 11:25

pink - I hope you manage to sort the wig dilemma - its great you can keep your sense of humour about it all Smile

Have a great break SpongeCakes, hope the weather stays nice for you.

I may have reported Hendriks - but he/she hasn't been deleted yet Hmm

SpongeBobSparePants · 14/04/2011 11:56

Pink - I also hope you get it sorted. I am sure they won't foul it up. FWIW My opinion is that you have to feel comfy in it. So even if other people say it looks nice, you aren't going to be happy for the next few months if it feels like a dead badger on your head.

Never mind KK - I don't think she can do much harm on here, we can spot them a mile off. Jst hope she doesn't pop up all over the place.

Thanks for the good wishes - Bournemouth here I come!!

SparkleRainbow · 14/04/2011 12:19

Grin at dead badger wig......I do hope your friend gets there in time Pink. If not, trust the hairdresser. I think your sense of humour over all this is inspirational!

Have a lovely time in Bournemouth spongecakes!

EasterChickAndRabbitKurri · 14/04/2011 12:48

I went to school in Bournemouth - I know all the good places to hang out if you want to ogle boys! GrinGrin

MaryAnnSingleton · 14/04/2011 13:10

Hope hair gets sorted pink - but am sure the hairdresser will do a good job for you.
Have a lovely time away spongecake Grin

mis-spent youth easterkurri ...........or well spent youth?

SpongeBobSparePants · 14/04/2011 13:30

Very, very tempted to get advice and go to ogle boys Grin

Sadly, though, we are going for DH's Mum's 80th birthday treat. I predict several very large and stodgy carvery dinners (I hate carveries, but she really, really loves them) and much sitting about, with dd getting more and more bored. Thank God there's a swimming pool in the hotel, and a beach to go and explore...

Very, very [jealous] you went to school at the seaside KK!

SpongeBobSparePants · 14/04/2011 13:30

oops, should have been Envy

MaryAnnSingleton · 14/04/2011 14:13

ah,carveries - some people absolutely love them- think it's an excuse to stuff as much food down your neck.
We used to go to brunch at the Marriott hotel in Grosvenor Square which was a pig out fest if ever there was- all the breakfast things, plus waffles and maple syrup and then pastries - in fact everything-all washed down with champagne- you could it seems eat and drink as much as you liked.

OP posts:
LimeJellyforBrains · 14/04/2011 14:24

Hah! Hendricks now deleted. I reported this morning - I obviously have more influence Kurri Wink

Don't encourage Cakes re ogling boys - she's got form (dance troupe I can't even remember the name of Blush) remember!

Have a lovely time Cakes - a couple of years in a row (not recently) we stayed at a lovely hotel at Boscombe for the 3 days between Christmas and New Year. Great beach (they were just building that failed sand break for surfers last time we were there), and enjoyed Bournemouth. Hope you can escape from the Carvery for time to explore!

Pink hope you get your wig sorted - agree with trusting hairdresser and your own comfort level with it. Very entertaining for us though Grin thanks for being so amusing about it!

Hope Figgy is feeling OK today, and that LGF's bloods pass the test xx

Today I went for my chicken-fillet and bra (sorry, foundation garment) fitting. Spent 20 mins trying to find a parking space, panted into the hospital 15 mins late.....discovered I was at the wrong hospital! They had only sent me an appointment for bleeding Watford! Miles away! Grrr. I didn't really look at the letter closely as had been told it would be at the local hospital where the breast clinic is. Now have to wait for another appointment. Have started wearing the spongy padded falsie I was given after my op. Doesn't look too bad, if a bit lumpy!

EasterChickAndRabbitKurri · 14/04/2011 14:26

Happy Birthday to you MIL Cakes - I'm sure you will find things for DD to do in Bournemouth.

Our favourite haunt was the ice rink (now closed I think) - we used to hire their disgusting soggy skating boots - but it was worth the risk of death by fungal foot infection, to watch the lads showing off on the ice and to 'accidently' bump into them. (All girls school - we were hormonal and desperate Grin)

Misspent youth indeed Grin

SpongeBobSparePants · 14/04/2011 14:39

I like the sound of all you can eat WITH CHAMPAGNE at the Marriott, MAS. More my kind of thing.

Hope the wig is sorted, pink. It must be OK or your kids would surely have been pretty forthright about it.

LJ - how annoying about the bra appointment. I must say your hotel in Boscombe sounds nice. Ours is one that specialises in old people's coach parties (yikes) but it does have a pool. MIL went for Xmas and loved it - we went to visit her there and the poor entertainment for the night, a couple of lads playing cover versions, got told to 'turn it down' three chords into their set. It is pretty sedate. Grin And the food is tasteless and overcooked but, hey, it's her birthday, her choice

KK - we had a rink like that as well. Wow, were the skates unpleasant - and so were the boys! I imagine Dorset boys are a bit more select (please don't disillusion me if I am wrong, a girl needs to dream).

coorong · 14/04/2011 17:58

hi all, had my biopsy results and "inconclusive" so back for a mammotome in 2 weeks (on holiday next week) and results the following week. The very down to earth consultant said it could go either way. They didn't find malignant or benign cells only dodgy ones. I apologise if this brings up bad memories for others, but this board helps reassure the anxious control freaks like me.

SparkleRainbow · 14/04/2011 18:14

Oh coorong, I am so sorry that you have more waiting to suffer through. I am not sure what cells that are neither malignant or benign means, unless they are ones which have begun to alter, but are not yet cancerous. This must be a good sign, maybe you will just have to have the cells removed, as I did my mass, and then that will be and end to it for you. I am sending my best optimistic thoughts......if that hepls at all.

LJ, I think you will find it was my reporting of Hendricks this morning, which carried the most weight Wink

SparkleRainbow · 14/04/2011 18:16

I am definitely an "all you can eat with champagne" kind of girl...... or at least given half the chance and the liquid assets ('cus the pun) I would be. Grin

coorong · 14/04/2011 18:33

thanks sparkle,

MaryAnnSingleton · 14/04/2011 19:28

coorong- sorry that you are having more horrid waiting - don't worry about saying how you feel on here, that's what it's for and we're happy to help.

OP posts:
EasterChickAndRabbitKurri · 14/04/2011 19:59

Sorry to hear you have more waiting coorong, I know it's stressful for you. But I hope you can manage to put it all to the back of your mind and enjoy your holiday next week.

Do feel free to vent on here if you need to, and don't worry about bringing up bad memories, - we all talk about these things all the time - so it's no problem Smile

Sparkle and LJ - I think you'll find it was I, Kurri the Trollslayer, who saw hendriks off Grin (would anyone like my autograph? Grin)
