Yes, I believe I was misadvised.

It started out as a mole but then grew, well, a stalk. Like a mole-on-a-stick.

The doc did call it a skin tag.

But it was a super-skin-tag. Not to be destroyed by a measly thread binding (or nail clippers). It fought back.

Let us know how you get on with the nail clippers.

RenniesFromHeaven · 10/03/2011 21:36

Yes, skin tags grow, they are like feral skin blobs growing you a new head. They just get bigger and bigger.

I'd always had a lot, but when I was pregnant they just went crazy (to the point of neighbours delightful child asking why I had mushrooms on my neck).

Still happy with decision to get gp to remove them - I have a couple of the super-sized ones now...

Back to docs I reckon.

jalopy · 10/03/2011 21:36

As in classic thread.

RenniesFromHeaven · 10/03/2011 21:37

Thanks jalopy... not seen that one...

pffffft, to coin a phrase

LessNarkyPuffin · 10/03/2011 21:50

Don't mess with moles. They can turn nasty.

edwardsbella · 11/03/2011 19:20

god it hurts - need to do something with - shall i put on more cotton or try to snip the cotton already ther

I get rid of little ones by freezing them with an ice cube and then snipping with nail clippers. Works a treat and is painless.

TheProvincialLady · 11/03/2011 19:30

You lot are such wimps. I just pulled mine off. I was pg and it was a massive one in between my breasts. Didn't hurt a bit and didn't leave a big scar that looks like sun damage. Honest.

edwardsbella · 11/03/2011 19:38

how can it not hurt mine kills

OP posts:
TheProvincialLady · 11/03/2011 20:01

OK maybe it did hurt a lot tiny bit. My goodness they can bleed too, can't they?

PositiveAttitude · 11/03/2011 20:21

Dh has one I have been dying to get my hands on for years. Shall I let him read this first, or just tackle him to the ground and attack?? Grin

edwardsbella · 13/03/2011 07:32

EveryonesJealousOfGingers · 14/03/2011 22:14

Right. I have one on my fanjo, just above where the outer labia start. It has now sprouted a second 'head' and turned into two! Inspired by your post I am going to ask the GP (seeing her anyway on Weds) if she can tie it/them for me!

Congratulations btw!!! Grin

MaryAnnes · 09/05/2012 22:52

I had similar - a few under my arm and one on my groin.
I tried a number of things - and then used skin tag zap off www.skintagremover.co.uk and within 7 days it had crisped up and falled off (and my god did it itch but i resisted picking it off!!!!)

fluffiphlox · 11/05/2012 09:35

I had one removed by the GP as my bra band was irritating it. That was done with what looked like nail scissors and no anaesthetic. It was fine.
Recently another one got caught under my bra strap and turned black and came off in the shower. If it is red and sore I suggest the quack looks at it.
