Husband taking a bath seems odd

hortham · 25/02/2011 19:28

My husband who has a regular office job often takes a bath in the evenings. Not after excercise either.
I find this odd and a little effeminate that a guy would do this.

Does anyone else agree?

Odd? Having a bath? Why?

Confused
TRIsTheArseEndOfAMouldyBanana · 25/02/2011 19:30

are you for real?

what other things do you find odd, I bet we could have a chuckle Grin

babyapplejack · 25/02/2011 19:30

This is totally normal. What is the problem exactly?

Gabyrale · 25/02/2011 19:31

My OH loves to take a bath on a sunday evening with the magazines, he spends about an hour in there and I do tease him asking him if he wants some candles, soothing music and a Wine but its not werid, just a nice way to wind down. I LOVE baths!

If you think that is odd then imo you may have led a rather sheltered life.

My own dh has an regular office job too. He had a bath last night (and I was in it with him!) Does this make us both odd. (I don't have a regular office job btw if that makes a difference).

Plenty of women on her would be glad of a dh who bathes regularly, it would make me more likely to jump on him tbh. Grin

ginmakesitallok · 25/02/2011 19:33

effeminate to have a bath??Confused why?

schroeder · 25/02/2011 19:35

I must have missed something? Is he having a shower every morning as well? Might be a bit obsessive, but effeminate?Confused

Am off to have my bathSmile
DH will be going for his too shortly.

OhBuggerandArse · 25/02/2011 19:36

Presumably he's meant to hava a cold shower with turps and a brillo pad at six in the morning. That would be much more manly.

Clockface · 25/02/2011 19:38

My dh often baths last thing before bed and I sit in the bathrom and we chat - tis bliss!

BaronessBomburst · 25/02/2011 19:40

My DH uses bubble bath. He has a selection according to his mood. Presumably that's odd too, then? Grin

whomovedmychocolate · 25/02/2011 19:40

Of course it's effeminate - he should be beating himself with sticks and dancing round a noncamp fire. Grin

If it makes you feel any better he's probably having a sly wank in there.

schroeder · 25/02/2011 19:40

Do you think this might me a reverse thread; 'dh reckons having a bath in the evening is effeminate' type of thing?

BecauseImWorthIt · 25/02/2011 19:41

Why on earth would there be anything odd in this?

What a weird OP!

BertieBotts · 25/02/2011 19:41

My boyfriend loves baths. With bubble bath. And candles.

He is a bit effeminate though Grin Why would it be worrying? Confused

BecauseImWorthIt · 25/02/2011 19:42

Ah - this is the OP's first post.

Welcome to Mumsnet, hortham.

toomuchmonthatendofthemoney · 25/02/2011 19:42

why should a man only bathe to get clean after exercise/manual labour? is he not entitled to enjoy some warmth, comfort, relaxation and a pleasant clean feeling before bed, simply because he has a penis? Hmm

just be glad he's clean and not a stinky minger!!

(but if you like the "bit of smelly rough workman type" fantasy, why dont you jump him before his bath and then enjoy a bath together afterwards? Wink)

ENormaSnob · 25/02/2011 19:45

WTF?

TheSydenhamSet · 25/02/2011 19:46

i wish mine would bath every evening. Seriously, i often have to beg him to have a wash!

doricpatter · 25/02/2011 19:48

DP says [troll]

LessNarkyPuffin · 25/02/2011 19:49

There's no hope. File for divorce.

RitaMorgan · 25/02/2011 19:49

My DP never washes, anything else would be terribly queer Shock

AintMissBeehiving · 25/02/2011 19:50

DH and I bath together in the evenings. We both work in an office - does that help? Wink

Olessaty · 25/02/2011 19:50

I use a bath as a relaxing experience, not just to pamper, so dunno why a guy wouldn't be allowed the same of an evening.

They can stay away from my LUSH stuff though, it's mine!

narrows eyes and looks threatening

Get your own matey!

KingofHighVis · 25/02/2011 19:50

I never have baths: I find them boring.

What does this mean?
