eugh!!!!!!

LimeJellyforBrains · 16/03/2011 18:24

Good that DH has turned up Kurri Smile. I know Lucozade is supposed to be a 'sports drink' now but I too associate it with being ill. And miss the yellow cellophane you could make all manner of things from, or just stare through to make your sick room turn a suitably jaundiced shade....

LimeJellyforBrains · 16/03/2011 18:25

Oh and yes, lemon puffs deffo filled with soap! Grin

SparkleRainbow · 16/03/2011 18:26

Glad dh is safe Kurri, having been hunter gathering for lucozade!

MaryAnnSingleton · 16/03/2011 18:27

no no they are NICE !! honest Grin
Lucozade though is bleughh- used to have it when I had my spleen out so associate it with feeling very poorly (ditto hot milk- eeeewww- I used to get out of bed and p[our it down the sink...and Ribena I can't be doing with as I tried to dissolve my baby teeth in it as an experiment)
Am v glad that vomiting has ceased and that riding was a success Grin and that Mr KK is safely home

Hmmm, I'm so rubbish at keeping up with everyone. In my defence, I have been at work all day :)

Figgy - as with everything else thats associated with this dreaded cancer, its the waiting thats the worst part! At least your hair is coming out now. I am still waiting. I am constantly touching my hair and checking the pillow at night. I wish it would hurry up and happen now. That webisite is great and I am eying up a few things on there.

Sally - welcome :) I have only been on here a few weeks and these ladies are great. I hope you get referred quickly. As I just said, its the waiting that is worst part. I think you need to try and fill your time as best you can.

I am much better today. I had a fairly decent nights sleep and have managed to be cheerful all day. My mouth ulcer is almost gone. My head feels a bit sensitive. I guess thats the hair getting ready to fall out Grin

sandripples · 16/03/2011 19:30

Hi all. Sally welcome - I'm not on here much but its nice to 'meet' you. I came through treatment last year and emerged in October. Everyone has given good advice so I won't repeat stuff, but try to take one step at a time, if you can. And no googling or thinking the worst, because after a while of utter panic you reliase there's nothing to be gained by thinking the worst, and that its better just to deal with each little step at once.

Sparkles _ I am delighted about your report - that's fanatstic!! Smile SmileSmile

I will now focus on kitten pix. Will let you know if I manage to remember what to do to post them.

sandripples · 16/03/2011 19:50

Well [proud emoticon] I have successfully added 5 kitten-pix to my profile so I hope you can see them!! We're all fairly Orlando-obsessed at present.

Hope Celeste is OK now? Has she got rid of the collar?

And has RWU acquired any more horses?

For new ladies on this thread - some people on here seem to acquire quite large pets without realising it! Its all very therapeutic though.

smee · 16/03/2011 20:00

Ooh yes, step away from the google, Sally. No good ever comes of it. I am a hypocrite, as I was addicted to it at first. This lot helped to wean me off. Smile

Too much going on to catch up with properly but MAS, Lemon Puffs though are just wrong. Am guessing the lack of chocolate is addling your brain?! Grin

Figgy, hair loss is hard. Sad Short crop is v.good idea, as at least that way you're taking control. Sounds like you're dealing with it brilliantly. How is your son coping with it all? Hope he's okay.

LGF, glad you're feeling better and a day at work. Big round of applause from me to you.

LJ, crass of me, but you could play the cancer card for your meet. This blardy disease has to be useful for something. evil Grin

Sparkle, a riding DD!! RWU will be pleased.

Waving to all others. I have a friend staying tonight, so must try and cook something edible. Will be a bit of a challenge. Confused

KurriKurri · 16/03/2011 20:13

SR - that is an absolutely gorgeous kitten, he looks so cute and cuddly Smile
Now I've seen him, I can see Orlando is the perfect name Smile

Your family and your home also look fabulous by the way

SallyScuttles · 16/03/2011 20:14

Thanks again for all the welcomes.

Sand Those kittens are beautiful, I had a nosey at your pics, so cute.

I've spoken to my DStepMum and we've agreed not to tell my Dad about me seeing the GP, we'll only tell him if we have to and hopefully we won't.

On the plus side I've just got back from my slimming club and I've lost 4lbs so quite chuffed about that. All our talk of lemon puffs isn't making it easy to stay away from the biscuit tin though!

LimeJellyforBrains · 16/03/2011 20:15

Smee - that's an idea, at least in order to explain my befuddledness (? nice word anyhow). Wouldn't want them to realise think I am always like this! Actually, the woman is a schools' autism advisor, very nice and I have met her before, just over-stretched. I shall probably want to see if she has any specific tips to help DS2 process info and thoughts. He will not be convinced that it's nothing to do with my broken arm! Grin

LimeJellyforBrains · 16/03/2011 20:22

Ooh kitten pics!! He is gorgeous and what big kitten ears, so cute!

Nosy: why have you got tinsel but no clutter on your stairs? I have clutter but no tinsel, would probably fail the RSPCA test!

LimeJellyforBrains · 16/03/2011 20:49

Sally Wow! that's great re the weight loss, well done! I should think my unflattering description of lemon puffs should keep you well away from the biscuit tin Grin

Very good plan re telling your Dad too, no need at all to mention anything unless you have to, and hopefully you won't! Smile I have had two ops and just started chemo but my mum doesn't know as she suffers from depression and is v bad just now. Every day she doesn't know is one less she spends worrying and upset. This is of course a bit extreme but necessary in our case.

SallyScuttles · 16/03/2011 20:54

Gosh Lime, thats impressive to manage to keep that a secret, I understand why though. I had to tell DStepMum, had to tell someone never been able to keep things to myself.

Re: Lemon Puffs, tbh at this point a minging biscuit would be a treat been on this bloody diet for months now and so bored of it.

KurriKurri · 16/03/2011 21:04

Well done on your weight loss Sally, four pounds is very good.

I think you've come up with a good solution,- no need to tell your Dad anything yet, it's really good you can confide in your Stepmum though - it helps to have someone to talk too.

I kept mine DX secret for a while (I didn't want to tell my DD because she was doing her A levels at the time, and I didn't want to mess things up for here) It's hard but definitely doable. LJ - you are doing briliantly in protecting your mum.

LimeJellyforBrains · 16/03/2011 21:08

Oh I have told plenty of people now. My sis was the first. I haven't seen mum much over the last few months so it's been easy so far.

SallyScuttles · 16/03/2011 21:09

Kurri Yes I'm hoping that it will all be nothing, maybe something from finishing bfeeding or a cyst and then I'll never have to mention it to Dad at all and I'll feel daft for panicking all week!

MaryAnnSingleton · 16/03/2011 21:50

Sally- impressive weight loss ! sorry to have mentioned the lemon puffs (ignore the others-they are deluded)
SR - Orlando is fab- so small,so fluffsome- so cute !
and yes,why have you got tinsel on the banisters ?

OP posts:
sandripples · 16/03/2011 22:27

Sally - well done on your 4lb. Which club are you in? I joined Slimming World at the end of Jan and have lost 10lb, and I'd lost 2 before I joined so I am feeling distinctly better - but a long way to go still, to reach a 'healthy' weight. I think I'm out of the obese zone now, which is good!! I'm wearing a pair of trousers that is totally comfortable which is a nice change.

Aha, tinsel questions - well we had a massive roof conversion project done about 4 years ago - it involved whole new staircase and we were so pleased with this project (which took a year) that we decorated the stairs and have never taken the tinsel down since!!

The clutter is in one of those stair baskets - slightly out of sight. The basket sist there full of clutter and never moves.... glad you all like the pictures!

sandripples · 16/03/2011 22:29

PS MAS - fluffsome - great word!

Cakesandale · 17/03/2011 09:28

Hi all

Great kitten pics SR, he is so lovely. I am glad the tinsel has been explained, i was going to ask!

MAS - i am with you on the lemon puffs, they are WONDERFUL!

MaryAnnSingleton · 17/03/2011 10:07

ah Cakes- someone with taste !
