trace2 · 14/10/2005 10:36

Have we what??

Weatherwax · 14/10/2005 10:40

Why not go to A&E now whilst the day shift is on and they do not have the friday night/weekend crowd?

GPs can not know about everything. That is why I forgive them when they get things wrong. She said it was probably your weight, I think you need someone to check the other options.

trace2 · 14/10/2005 10:42

got a lloyds chemist

if you dont, go to a and e

sometimes they can be quiet (its not always like casualty on the telly!) and now is pretty good time (usually) and they will be very nice to you

this is not an option trace, its an order!

Nbg · 14/10/2005 10:43

Oh right, lol!

There's one near my house, opposite the library. Don't know if it's a Lloyds.

Give me a sec and I'll check.

Nbg · 14/10/2005 10:47

Yup, theres one in town one Midland Street which, by looking at the map look like it's near the Alhambra.

Weatherwax · 14/10/2005 10:49

Don't feel inferior to GPs. They know lots and work hard but they don't know everything and they shouldn't think they can just look at you and work out whats wrong. Get a second opinion at A&E

trace2 · 14/10/2005 10:53

i dont like wasteing docs time, this is how bad i am 8 years ago i could not breath went to gps said i had a bad chest if nit better in 5 days come back, well i thought i was ok but exp said i was struggling to breath, ( i think you get used to it), well i went he sent me straight to hospital, i walked, when got there they could ot beleave i walked anyway doc came told me not to get of bed as i had a pulmery emberlisem, , if not gone in when i did would have been dead in couple of hours. and i still not lernt my lesson, but i know this is not the same.

sorry its so long

trace, if you go to A&E asap, before the weekend rush as others suggest, you can at least get a second opinion.

You would not be wasting their time - please go. If it's fine, your mind is at rest.

Nbg · 14/10/2005 10:58

Yes but illnesses present themselves in different ways Trace.

I'd offer to have ds for you whilst you went but he doesn't really know us that well does he?

nailpolish · 14/10/2005 11:05

trace, take responsibilty for you own health FFS (sorry for swearing but im getting annoyed at you saying "you dont like wasting dcs time" ) and go to a and e

these problems dont just go away

Nbg · 14/10/2005 11:15

Have you gone then?

trace2 · 14/10/2005 11:25

Nbg · 14/10/2005 11:33

Awww poor thing.

Horrible thing is chicken pox.

Let us know how you get on. Hopefully you'll get in before schools are out.

Ulysees · 14/10/2005 14:12

what time are you going?

Joanie · 14/10/2005 14:51

So glad ur going to hosp, esp after what you said about embulism. I know of someone who is overweight and, even though she is v ill with a heart prob she doesnt like to go to the gp or hosp, cos she dones want to waste their time etc. But when you go there with that attitute in mind they do sometimes think you're not too bad and just send you home.

I think she is depressed and lacking self-esteem and so doesnt put herself forward enough in these situations. Hope you do, cos sounds worth pursuing. GPs - some are good, but some do miss things (and so do hospitals too surprisingly so do put yourself forward and make sure you tell them all your history)

ps - see youv'e done the 'press test'. Def sounds like water retention, so need to get the underlying cause sorted. Good luck and don't be fobbed off - you're worth it

Ulysees · 14/10/2005 19:33

wot happened?

Weatherwax · 15/10/2005 08:23

How are you trace?

trace2 · 15/10/2005 09:51

hi did go yesterday but bottled it when i got there, so dh shouted at me and we had a big fall out so i stormed off ( i understand that i should do it for ds and dh) but when you scared you do anything .

Any wayi do feel better and my ankels are going down, so i have promised dh will go back to gp next week.

thank you every one who listened and repylied, but realy am ok , i feel silly going on about this when theres lots of you worst of then me.
again thank you !
