Disgusting taste in my mouth

I have had a horrible tatse in my mouth since Sunday. It seems to be coming from either side of my tongue about halfway down my mouth. It really is foul, a sort of bitter, burny, metallic taste & nothing will shift it.I've tried flossing, mints, mouthwash,TCP,throat sweets & Bonjela but they just seems to make it worse.I am struggling to eat aything because everything tastes so nasty & makes me feel sick.

I've booked a dentist appt for tomorrow to see if she can find out what it is.It is driving me crazy, does anyone have any suggestions as to what could be causing it?

Thanks.

I noticed heartburn on the list on Joolstoo's list. It occurs to me, reminds me that I had reflux recently - and one of the things that made it worse was the fact that I wasn't eating in an attempt to ease the symptoms. Maybe if you have developed a small case of hearburn, then some of the self-medicating/struggling to eat anything is making it worse? Just a thought.

(I was referred to hospital for blood tests and given script for Gaviscon in case it was merely reflux - was very embarrassed when Gaviscon did the trick. However, it was soooo painful, I couldn't not do anything about it. If dentist doesn't resolve I'd highly recommend a visit to dr - and to pharmacist in the meantime if you don't get a quick drs appt)

drummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm roll!

spidermama · 20/09/2005 21:38

So Mirage's baby is 17 weeks. Hmmmmm. That would be a challenging age gap. She'll be hoping for a neg.

Dum de dum.

Well?

madmarchhare · 20/09/2005 21:40

Surely if she is, shed want to tell DP/H first. We could be in for a long wait.

ChicPea · 20/09/2005 21:40

Welllllllllllllllllllllllll.......!!!!!!!!!!

Munchkinola · 20/09/2005 21:44

The fact that she hasn't come straight back may say something?

Mirage · 20/09/2005 21:45

It was.......negative!

I was shaking when I did the test, but secretly feel a little bit disappointed it wasn't positive.

Is a horrible taste in the mouth a symptom of insanity anyone? Because with a 2 year old,a 17wk old & a house in need of renovation,I'd have to be crackers to want another baby.

Jamiesam,I have what seems like a lifetime supply of Gaviscon left from my last pregnancy so will try it.Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks for the support everyone-I'll let you all go to bed now.
