Labour in government with the Libdems in opposition and the right wing marginalised would be great! Can't afford to get my hopes up too much though!

This would be a dream scenario but I'm also trying hard to manage my expectations. Grin

greengreyblue · 04/07/2024 20:50

Oh that would be marvellous!! 🤩

@@WithACatLikeTread i didn’t, I voted for Labour. But I can understand why people were bought my Farage. He presents himself as patriotic and no nonsense (not saying his genuine.) but I can understand the reasoning.

Voting the tories back in I just cannot understand. We’re in worst shape since they came into government than before, scandal after scandal. Why would you vote that back in? It’s like the abused dog going back to its owner… I don’t agree with NF or his policies hence why I didn’t vote but if people do, fair play 🤷🏼‍♀️ I cannot understand how ANYONE could believe a shred of shit that comes from conservatives though.

notwavingbutdrowning1 · 04/07/2024 20:51

Labour. A Labour government just can't come soon enough.

BurntBroccoli · 04/07/2024 20:52

Me Labour, son Labour, daughter Labour

WhappleBee · 04/07/2024 20:52

Was veering between green and labour. Ended up panic voting Green as just couldn’t bring myself to cross the labour box - not 100% sure why!

I hear you.

I would dance a jig at that.

What do you think of Reform wanting to scrap the Equalities Act? Do you think that's would be good for women? Do you know what the consequences would be?

Rewriting, not scrapping.

And that’s fine, I’d rather biological sex was a protected characteristic anyway.

Stardustmoon · 04/07/2024 21:00

Labour for me and Labour for DH.

Tumbleweed101 · 04/07/2024 21:01

I voted, my 18yo has too and my two in their 20s. I've told them how important it is younger people vote so that policies will start being aimed at their generation as well as older people.

Mayhemmumma · 04/07/2024 21:03

This is interesting and shocking to me. So many women voting reform. I agree tories are as racist but even they have more (tiny) strings to their bows.

GrantShappsOtherUserName · 04/07/2024 21:05

If you look at the actual poll , Reform are way behind Lib Dems and equal with Greens and Other.

Buzzer3555 · 04/07/2024 21:06

Labour

HungryLittleCrocodile · 04/07/2024 21:08

Well this is all very interesting! Grin

More for Labour than I thought.

And less for Reform than I thought!

TattiePants · 04/07/2024 21:10

DH is just walking our postal votes up to the polling station now. We've both voted Labour (actually I never asked him so I assume he has). DS is 3 weeks off being able to vote otherwise it would have been 3 for Labour.

Minor panic as DH just phoned to say our usual polling station isn't there. Quick Google and fortunately it's just round the corner from where he is. Nothing like leaving it till the last minute!

BBC: The party would also scrap the Equality Act and diversity, equality and inclusion rules, which the party suggests are lowering economic productivity.

allaboardtheplaybus · 04/07/2024 21:12

Labour...with gritted teeth

Talkwhilstyouwalk · 04/07/2024 21:12

Conservative by a hair. Couldn't quite face voting labour......

AhNowTed · 04/07/2024 21:14

3 Labour votes in a Labour/Con marginal.

Probablyfinebutworried · 04/07/2024 21:14

1dayatatime · 04/07/2024 18:49

@MrsBennetsPoorNerves

Ahh the tolerant left wing...

Fully supporting democracy so long as it's for the left wing, anything else and you are a fascist, racists, white, uneducated etc etc and deserve to be sent off to a gulag.

I don't think Reform voters are uneducated, I just think they're thick.

MynameisML · 04/07/2024 21:15

Labour

Ladybrrrd · 04/07/2024 21:15

Lib Dems! Almost went Labour but Kier just a wet blanket bending to the scare mongering lately.

Probably Labour in our area but LDs are gaining.

Pinkflamingo87 · 04/07/2024 21:16

Labour. I have always aligned with Labour. I live in a Torie seat, previously Lib Dem. The Lib Dem candidate seems to be genuine and most likely to unseat the current useless Torie. Very unlikely a Labour candidate would. I thought I would tactically vote for Lib Dem, but when it came to it I couldn’t and voted for what I hope for.
Husband tactically voted Lib Dem to GTTO.

Welshmonster · 04/07/2024 21:17

My neighbour’s postal vote did not arrive at all so no vote. Hoping my postal vote got back and has been counted

Longdarkcloud · 04/07/2024 21:18

@IHaveNeverLivedatTheCastle Why should a party end up with more MPs than the percentage of votes they get? First Past the Post disenfranchises thousands of voters. Of course you do need to choose the fairest system of Proportional Representation.. And you need a Govt that credits the voters with reasonable intelligence. The last time the subject was raised here many influential people and MPs said it was all just too complicated. Are the Brits less intelligent than many other nationalities?
