Just voted Reform. Was wavering in the polling booth, but wanted a protest vote and chose Reform as a FU to everyone who called Reform voters names.

That's a really stupid reason IMO.

parttimeweddingplanner · 04/07/2024 19:55

I voted tactically to get the Tories out.

motherofbantams · 04/07/2024 19:55

Labour but did swap my vote so someone somewhere voted Libdem for me

Neverendinghousework · 04/07/2024 19:57

Willyoujustbequiet · 04/07/2024 19:49

The reason people are voting reform:

A. They don't understand how bad they actually are.
B. They are racist, homophobic or misogynistic themselves.

Neither of which is a flex.

No you don’t understand the reasons. And I’m none of those listed under B; I’m a 45 year old woman wanting a better future for my children. My partner works incredibly hard. I’m proud to be British and Reform is my preference. Accept we don’t all have the same opinion.

Willmafrockfit · 04/07/2024 19:58

i had to do a proxy for dd, or poxy as i called it, in error Grin Blush

Spoilt my ballot, but the contest for my seat is between Labour and SNP, so your grouping might work on a UK level but doesn't make much sense for me.

Spoilt by accident or on purpose?

noblegiraffe · 04/07/2024 19:24

Interesting that the percentage on the poll who say they voted reform is far less than the proportion of people who have posted that they voted reform.

The idea of 'shy reform voters' needs to be replaced with 'extremely vocal reform voters'.

Sorry, I think I may have been one of them. I've just gone back and voted on the poll.

Lolaandbehold · 04/07/2024 20:02

I haven't voted yet; heading out in an hour or so. I think they're all useless. I won't not vote, but am genuinely thinking of spoiling my vote.

Faceplantagain · 04/07/2024 20:02

In a constituency in the West Country where the boundaries have been re-jigged, and where it looks as if Lib Dem is the safest bet to ensure that a Conservative doesn't get in. So, I've voted that way. If that hadn't been an issue, I'd have probably voted Labour.

You know, sometimes 'names' are just a way to categorise things. Ie. A centipede has a 100 legs. Or a mammal doesn't lay eggs. Or a reform voter believes anyone different to them like a brown person or a woman, they don't understand and think is a danger to them and wants to steal their 'hard earned money and taxes'. Aka a bigot. Please, don't take it personally, its simply shorthand.

Probablyfinebutworried · 04/07/2024 20:03

NoNameNoOne · 04/07/2024 16:33

Reform although to be honest none of them represent my opinions. I voted reform just to show I want to see REFORM in the parties and of the stale, lying, political elite we have, rather than thinking they were getting in. Hubby safely voted Labour which our area has and will always be.

Jesus Christ that's depressing.

choccytime · 04/07/2024 20:04

Me and DH both Lib Dem

The problem with this sort of thing is that it could finish up being a FU to yourself. Just like when people voted to leave the EU.

popsickle555 · 04/07/2024 20:05

Lib Tem (tactical)

Bibbidybobbidyboo1 · 04/07/2024 20:05

To all those slagging off reform voters, at least they’ve voted for change… I’d rather lunch with reform voter than a fucking torie voter. They were partying during lockdown whilst people were fucking dying and not allowed visitors in hospital. How in the fuck could you vote for them again? Did you feel bad for rishi not having sky tv or what? I don’t fucking get it!!

TaraTories · 04/07/2024 20:06

Glad to see, from the exit poll here at least, Libs getting a look in over the Tories. You'd not imagine that with some of the threads on here!

Emmanuelll · 04/07/2024 20:07

Reform is hardly any different to the BNP

Tracker1234 · 04/07/2024 20:07

MN is left wing regarding voting preferences.

Twinstudy · 04/07/2024 20:07

Beefandwine · 04/07/2024 18:57

Reform aren't getting rid of the NHS, and if you read their policies you would know that. They want a French style system. The NHS will still be there free at the point of use for those who need it. The NHS is on its knees and needs an overhaul, its not fit for purpose and we all know it.

Reform want to support families, the revised tax thresholds would certainly help our family, as I am the only earner. They will provide that I can take his tax allowance. I currently earn too much at the moment. My DH has been ill-health retired and no we don't claim benefits. They want to scrap Net Zero - good, its a complete waste of money which will only make us poorer. They want to remove the trans agenda from schools. These are all things I support. So yes I voted Reform and I would do it again. I care about this country and its direction for mine and my children's future.

The two main parties don't deserve my vote.

And this will be paid for how? I'll promise you free houses, no taxes and a unicorn for all. You gonna vote for me?

TaraTories · 04/07/2024 20:08

Tracker1234 · 04/07/2024 20:07

MN is left wing regarding voting preferences.

Not with thread choices, however! Although we often suspect they are started by few for the many...to ignore it seems.

Not any more - it used to be in the 00s. Much wider demographic now.

HollyFern1110 · 04/07/2024 20:08

Labour. We have been a very safe Tory seat since 1992, held by a z list “celebrity” Boris wannabe.

Polls this time round suggest it’s very close between him & Labour. Fingers crossed!

Nah that’s a mealy mouthed excuse. There are independent candidates

Is it true that there are bots on here?? How does that work..are they creating posts using AI? I am intrigued!! horrified and appalled

This sort of thing https://inews.co.uk/news/world/russia-uk-election-meddle-mumsnet-3072676

Not necessarily AI, could just be people paid to astroturf.

Russia expected to meddle in UK election as regime 'targets forums like Mumsnet'

Russia’s growing and nefarious influence has reached discussion forums, where propagandists integrate themselves into online communities
