So Starmer says he tries to reserve Friday evenings for family time and Rishi sticks the boot in saying “'I haven't finished at six ever.'”

so how come I’ve seen him mountain biking in the north York moors in the middle of the afternoon both before and since becoming prime minister!

Well to be fair, if he finished work at noon, then he didn't finish work at 6 pm...

Not that I think there’s anything wrong with finishing at 6pm, or even working flexibly and spending a few hours out cycling on a nice day. I’m all for it! But I’m fed up of the lies and hypocrisy.

What about Boris and the lock down parties of which Sunak was found guilty of attending, apparently some of those started late afternoon….id love to know if they were all post 6pm. I thought some were starting at 5pm.

I don’t think anyone who hasn’t worked in parliament understands what the work pressures are like. I am sure you may have seen him bike riding one afternoon but I am equally sure he will have been working after that into the evening.

His daughters are at boarding school, aren't they? The Starmer children are at day schools. So there's an immediate difference. Sunak and his wife pay others to look after their daughters on Friday evenings and Starmer and his wife presumably don't.

I completely get that and to be honest that’s how I work. As long as I get my work done my hours are flexible, so I might take an extended break in the middle of the day and work at the evening. And I’m sure Starmer will work the hours needed to get the done, and Rishi knows that. All the character assassination and smear attacks just turn me off the Tories. But when he says he’s never finished work at 6pm it’s a lie. I’m sure he’s worked the hours needed but he has taken time out to spend time with his family and leisure activities.

Nothing to say he doesn’t take a break in the afternoon and then go back to work in the evening , who really cares .

No, it’s near his constituency home. I’ve seen him multiple times on weeks when he’s definitely not on holiday because the following day he’s doing a visit somewhere.

His constituency is in North Yorkshire. Perhaps mountain biking counts as constituency business.

Christ of all the things to dislike about the current Government - that the PM went mountain biking one afternoon.

I would imagine he generally spends 60 plus hours working each week. You have so much at your disposal to criticise him for, and you pick on his work ethic, which is probably the only thing he has in his favour.

If you read any former Prime Minister's biography, they all say that the hours of work are pretty much all day every day.

Short of a national emergency everyone should be able to finish work at 6pm on a Friday, not be slagged off for it.
