@mandymeans I’m so sorry

RobinStrike · 02/07/2024 17:25

@mandymeans I am so sorry. That's so tough to bury a baby without the covid restrictions. Flowers

RobinStrike · 02/07/2024 17:35

I have a lot of thoughts. Optimism that maybe things will be rebuilt. The 20 years before Labour were last in power 4 hospitals were built. The next 20 years 104 were built.
But apart from all the horrors of covid it's the sheer obsessive self interest bordering on criminality. Cameron and Greensill. Johnson and proroguing Parliament, plus all his holidays with Russians and putting them in the House of Lords in return for favours. Gove, Hancock and many more Tories lining their pockets with millions over PPE contracts, most of which were useless. At the same time as they prosecuted people who had carers allowance and earned a few pounds over their allowance when they'd been told it was ok. Not pursuing Michelle Mone and others to claw back the money we couldn't afford to lose on useless PPE. Not extending the number doctors in training. Dominic Cummings. The list is endless.

@mandymeans you made me cry. What a remarkable woman you are. I’m so so so so sorry you had to go through that. No one should ever have been treated like that.

So many powerful stories and images on this thread. So much heartbreak and grief, so many damaged families and unappreciated, hardworking public servants and so, so many selfish, selfish, greedy politicians.

How many crosses do I get?

Escentricmolecule · 02/07/2024 18:40

@mandymeans thank you for sharing your story and that beautiful picture, words seem inadequate but I'm very sorry for your loss xxx

My darling Dad who died in a horrendously under staffed hospital ward recently. He spent his whole life opposing those Tory fuckers ✊🏽🌹

dontcallmelen · 02/07/2024 18:46

@mandymeans I am so very sorry, I wish I could find words that would be a comfort thank you for sharing such a beautiful photograph my heartfelt condolences.

dontcallmelen · 02/07/2024 18:47

Also my most sincere sympathy for others who lost loved ones or endured dreadful times💐

SwordToFlamethrower · 02/07/2024 18:53

I hope labour lift the benefit cap, remove the 2 child cap and the bedroom tax as a starter.

Boris Johnson was 40 miles away at Chequers that evening - the BBC and the Sue Gray report confirmed he wasn't in residence at Number 10 at the time.

And? Does it make any difference given that he was partying on several other days? And that this was the Prime Minister under whose supervision wine time Fridays at no. 10 were not only allowed but encouraged despite being unlawful?

Chartreux · 02/07/2024 19:49

Clavinova · 02/07/2024 11:48

The teen died in King's College Hospital on 30 March 2020 - the first Downing Street gathering was 15 May 2020.

Are you seriously suggesting that makes it OK?

I'm almost surprised that you haven't demanded the date of @mandymeans ' awful tragedy so that you can quibble whether it was exactly at the time that Johnson was partying.

Disasterclass · 02/07/2024 19:59

People dying because ambulances aren't getting to them for hours, or in hospital corridors.

I don't in anyway think it was a utopia under Labour and I certainly don't think it will be one under the next labour government. But the levels of callousness under the tories is off the scale - lining their mates pockets with ppe money, claiming food banks are a good thing, blaming the residents of Grenfell for following instructions not to leave, having to be shamed by a footballer to feed children, partying whilst we were obeying lockdown rules. And on and on

Clearly it does make a difference, otherwise posters would not add that detail for dramatic effect. Keir Starmer's beer and curry was less than 2 weeks after the Queen was photographed sitting alone at Prince Philip's funeral - after which Starmer lied and tried to cover up how many people he was with. Guidance for constituency visits at the time recommended against meeting inside - not least because they were visiting different towns and cities every day.

Frazzledteacher · 02/07/2024 20:12

When you read all these in one go it's really shocking and sad. How on earth did they get away with all this. And still have people voting for them on Thursday. I hope they get absolutely annihilated and don't ever get back in power.

Why would I do that when I posted earlier in the thread;

'Some posters have real grief and anger certainly'

Saying goodbye to my baby daughter wearing a face mask. Walking into the funeral home in a mask, and finally getting it off when I was alone with her in the chapel of rest. Whilst BJ and his mates partied.

Bit floored by this. I am so, so sorry for your loss Flowers

Thank you OP 🌺

I will never forget labouring alone. Knowing she would be gone soon. And not being allowed to call H in because I wasn't in active labour, and then active labour came and she arrived within minutes

Seeing her tied up to tubes and wires. Watching as she struggled and I sweated under a mask, apron, gloves.

I hate it all. And I am still so very sad the Tory party had such little respect for families like mine, saying goodbye to loved ones

Oh dear Lord. I am so so sorry for your loss Flowers

Despite Grenfell you still get people moaning about social housing tenants on here the minute we speak up about how we are treated. Happened on here again just last week.

Matt Hancock saying "dont blow it now" during a press conference when the public had already sacrificed so much.

Disabled and ill people being used as a tool to emotionally blackmail others into following lockdowns and restrictions when the Gov. and most people couldnt give a fuck about them under normal circumstances. I dont like users! I said it would be back to the default setting soon enough................and here we are Both Tory and Labour talking about people on benefits in a derogatory way and touting the idea of giving PIP claimants vouchers. Not vulnerable now eh!

I dont think its a coincidence that attitudes towards social housing tenants have got even worse since Grenfell Some people like the status quo very much as it is.
