Do you think the Tories have acted with integrity?

In general terms, no more or less than the Labour Party - take your pick.

Wow! I’m not really a fan of Labour, but come on!

The dead refugee toddler on the beach.

Oh god. Yeah. Thank you for not posting the poor baby. Although it's burned into my brain already.

What's wrong with us as a society that that happening didn't make us sit down like grown ups and fix things?
**
Instead policy seems perfectly designed to drive people into the clutches of the people trafficking gangs

Rees-Mogg appears to have escaped from wherever he’s been locked in during campaigning:

”Jacob Rees-Mogg has said he wants to “build a wall in the English Channel” in a leaked recording, in which he heaped praise on Donald Trump and the hardline Republican response to immigration.1 hour ago”

He’s clearly insane. Or just a nasty bastard. Or both 🤷‍♀️

JRM saying he'd build a wall in the channel.

Jesus wept, I really have heard it all now.

I know it's a soundbite but talking about scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Also: sit up straight and look like you're paying attention when you're an elected MP in the House of Commons, you useless waste of space.

@Clavinova what business do you have on this thread? The topic is what picture will you have in your head while voting the tories out. You clearly will be voting for them to stay. This thread is about how people feel, can you not try to have some respect ?

Perhaps you could think of something constructive to add to the thread then? I haven't posted on this thread for over two hours - you've had plenty of time to think of something.

willowtolive · 02/07/2024 15:12

I've only just read the thread @Clavinova and asking if you're capable of acting respectfully is what I wanted to add and is all I have to say to you.

asking if you're capable of acting respectfully

I don't think it's very respectful to use an f-word when referring to the Queen, lie about Boris Johnson having a party that evening, repeat an unfounded rumour that Charlotte Owen is Johnson's daughter or blame the British government for the death of a toddler who died on a Turkish beach en route to Greece/Canada. Sorry if you mind me objecting to those false facts. In fact, I remember correcting the op on Alan Kurdi's death on a previous thread so she is quite happy to use the death of a toddler to score political points based on false information.

Clavinova always pops up at election time with her cut and pastes. Best to ignore.

I won't have any politicians faces in my mind when I vote. I will be thinking of both of my disabled dds and what I hope will be the best party for them

This and what Jacob Rees- Mogg had to say still enrages me. I remain furious. Livid.

Vengeful.

BIossomtoes · 02/07/2024 16:41

So many of these resonate with me. But the most powerful one is the Queen sitting masked and uncomforted at her husband’s funeral. That makes me want to hurt Johnson quite badly.

Noosnom · 02/07/2024 16:43

Mone on her stupid stolen money yacht.

And that thick, selfish blonde messy haired asshole Johnson who lies every time he speaks and only cares about himself.

Saying goodbye to my baby daughter wearing a face mask. Walking into the funeral home in a mask, and finally getting it off when I was alone with her in the chapel of rest. Whilst BJ and his mates partied.

Thank you OP 🌺

I will never forget labouring alone. Knowing she would be gone soon. And not being allowed to call H in because I wasn't in active labour, and then active labour came and she arrived within minutes

Seeing her tied up to tubes and wires. Watching as she struggled and I sweated under a mask, apron, gloves.

I hate it all. And I am still so very sad the Tory party had such little respect for families like mine, saying goodbye to loved ones

I had to watch a family funeral over zoom. The family members who were allowed to attend had to sit six feet apart. Meanwhile Boris and chums were living it up. Revolting. OUT!!!
