Sunak going on about freeports in Teeside as a Brexit benefit. I can't remember that on the side of a bus

TheShellBeach · 20/06/2024 21:42

Has anyone asked about levelling up yet?

There's a lot of grappling going on.

He knows it's all over but he's got to play on till the whistle blows. He's got nerve I'll give him that.

Pardon my football analogy but it is the Euros ..

My work colleague’s mum lives in his constituency, says he’s a decent enough chap if you meet him in the local market. I don’t doubt he’s bright and well-intentioned, but he severely lacks the ability to engage with people or to lead his party.

Aren't there all those unused expensive Brexit mega-sheds in Portsmouth?

RobinStrike · 20/06/2024 21:43

The Welsh First Minister is on a different QT. Next week I think.

fridaynight1 · 20/06/2024 21:44

Yay for the doctor. I'm voting for him 😁

TheShellBeach · 20/06/2024 21:47

I'm almost sorry that Beth Rigby isn't doing this.

AutumnCrow · 20/06/2024 21:47

Legal migration cap. No families unless loaded.

So how do you staff the NHS then, genius?

Itisjustmyopinion · 20/06/2024 21:47

Rishi has checked out. He doesn’t care about anything anymore which if anything is fairly disrespectful to the country. In a way I hope he keeps his seat just so he is pissed off and can’t get his California dream straight away (albeit there will be a by-election in his seat by the end of the year)

Tonight was the best Keir has come across. Seemed calmer than other debates

Good to see Ed Davey finally facing the post office question although he could have answered better than “well I believed what I was told”

StripedPiggy · 20/06/2024 21:48

Starmer saying Corbyn would have been a better PM than Johnson is a serious blunder which could do real damage to Labour’s campaign.

However awful, dishonest, incompetent etc etc Johnson was, at least he wasn’t a threat to U.K. national security, unlike Corbyn.

The idea of Johnson as PM appalled me, but the idea of Corbyn as PM genuinely frightened me. He would have been hopelessly & dangerously out of his depth from day 1 and would have been incapable of making the decisions necessary to keep this country safe. The idea of Corbyn dealing with Putin or Xi Jinping just doesn’t bear thinking about.

Oh god no she was awful

I don’t usually like Fiona Bruce on QT but she has been ok tonight

Ah. Jo Swinson lost her seat at the last Scottish election.

It used to be good years ago, It was on Friday and Freddy Grisewood was in charge.

AutumnCrow · 20/06/2024 21:57

'Foreign Court' (ECHR)

Twats applaud

Fiona Bruce corrects Sunak

MetOffice · 20/06/2024 21:57

On a bit of delay, but I thought Keir knocked it out of the park. He seemed reasonable, balanced, thoughtful, sensible and perfect Prime Minister material when compared to the shower of Tory shit we've had for the last few years.

TheShellBeach · 20/06/2024 22:04

I can't wait to find out how big Starmer's majority is going to be.
It'll be a great birthday present for me.

OP posts:
anon2022anon · 20/06/2024 22:04

I think Starmer for the first half was waffly and avoiding answering too much. A bit later on he started telling the truth more- the NHS is our priority, not tuition fees, and came across much better. I'd rather a potential pm said I don't know or that's not the priority than make up a load of waffle to get a soundbite in.

Sunak, I actually appreciate the way he answers some things, even if I don't like his answers. He seemed angry at times though.

LakeTiticaca · 20/06/2024 22:07

Given the fact that Reform are second in the polls, where is Nigel?
Oh yeah sorry this the totally impartial public broadcasting company that we are forced on pain of a jail sentence to pay for

TheShellBeach · 20/06/2024 22:07

I expect Sunak is angry because he has to go through with this charade, even though he knows he's going to be thrashed.

I wondered where Farage was.

Is it true that the only European countries not signed up to the European Court of Human Rights are Russia and Belarus?

Sunak will take us out in order to pass his Rwanda deal.

Fucking hell. That’s terrifying.

eta yes, Russia, Belarus and the Vatican City.
