chillymorns · 25/05/2024 16:21

Whoever they are.

I want -

A better management and investment in key areas of the NHS

Cheaper utilities

More money for disabled people and their families

More tax on those earning over a certain %, so maybe those on £100k plus being taxed a bit further

Cheaper railways being introduced

Better investment in local facilities

Please share yours Smile I voted Labour last time and will do so again. The Tories just need to be gone, and I'm not convinced those with any sense will say otherwise

What you "want" and what you get are two totally different items

Labour and Cons will promise whatever they feel will get them into number 10.
Then after that history will repeat itself, IE

The Manisfestos are not with toilet paper pa[er they are written on, factAAA

Crispynoodle · 25/05/2024 23:57

More social housing, a cap on private rentals, help for young couples to buy houses, better access to GP appointments better public sector pay especially nurses and JR doctors much better pay for the FE sector better and more affordable child care

CadyEastman · 26/05/2024 00:03

Better maternity and post birth services so that Women can give birth safely and receive the care that they need following birth.

More money for schools so that they can actually function and support all pupils, not just the NT.

Those in e.g. the NHS can't change the amount that they put into their pension.

They can make additional contributions.

notanotherrokabag · 26/05/2024 10:38

BIossomtoes · 26/05/2024 09:32

They can make additional contributions.

Not on a year by year basis. You get that choice once, early in your career, and I believe it has now been removed.for new starters.

A new national curriculum and assessment system that works for children and young people of all abilities to get them meaningful qualifications at the right level for them, that can help them get meaningful employment.

Buy back/ stop selling off national services to private companies who run them for profit. Ie trains and utilities.

Plough money into early years and high quality affordable childcare.

Stop selling weapons to other countries.

Sort out extortionate rents for private housing and small businesses.

Put laws in place that support small business instead of getting eaten up by multinationals who own everything.

Put laws in place to stop billionaires buying properties that sit empty.

more money in NHS but restructure it to help minor issues be dealt with more easily through walk ins.

Analysis of the unpaid contributions made in society which is statistically mainly women and compensate them financially so they don’t lose out on pension etc for working part time and when they still earn more than their husbands have to hand over half when they get divorced despite doing most of everything.

I want them to eradicate poverty and fix healthcare

Sounds like a response in a Miss Skegness Beauty Pageant

Vitriolinsanity · 26/05/2024 12:32

Open SEN schools and give these poor children an opportunity to thrive outside mainstream. In the SE these poor children and their families are being so badly let down it is a scandal. Additional draining the schools budgets to pay for TA's to do no more than stop them hurting themselves and others.

Order GP surgeries to make available appointments to see patients. Can there be anyone at all that doesn't think the way GP surgeries have operated since the pandemic has fucked up the entire NHS? For those patients that need a doctor, but don't have to see them develop a centralised service that allows for writing prescriptions like the private ones that have opened like Pushdoctor. Staffing this could be by medical students so that can offset their Uni fees.

Don't you think it's possible ?

"financial constraints will win sadly"

Women, poor without rights will be lowest of low.

Scotland wants to eradicate child poverty. They increased lowest incomes by at least £100 per month 2 years ago. I absolutely believe in my government going forward. Maybe people need to have high standards

HopelesslyOptimistic · 26/05/2024 21:14

I do NOT want any more money poured into the NHS. They cannot even get the basics right. Let's start with answering a telephone... it's a effing shambles. I want to pay when I need the care. Simply because of their waste & inefficiencies.

Or, halfway there

taxguru · 27/05/2024 08:30

Reform civil servants and public sector right through from HMRC, NHS, councils and all quangos - they're out of control and inefficient and treating taxpayers like shit.

steamedisbest · 27/05/2024 08:31

marie3e · 26/05/2024 21:33

“halfway” to eradicating poverty in Scotland

okey dokey

Startingagainandagain · 27/05/2024 09:26
  • end the sewage scandal: water companies/bosses should be able to be prosecuted if they don't clean up their act
  • lower utility bills: whether that means re-nationalising or better control on price, new state-owned companies...
  • better funding for public services
  • bring back some honesty and decency in politics
  • inquiry into dodgy Covid contracts to mates and people being made to repay that money and/or go to jail...
  • improve NHS
  • no more tax avoidance/loopholes for corporations and wealthy individuals
  • A focus on the environment/ addressing climate change
  • Support for small, independent businesses so we don't have life-less, bland high streets full of Starbucks & other big chains..

Frankly there is so much to be done!

But to start with we need a grown up government that puts the country first and not themselves and their rich friends...

Emeraldsrock · 27/05/2024 11:57

Rejoin the customs union or campaign to.

Tax breaks for small businesses.

Recognise what a women is.

Invest in the NHs, particularly clinical staff.

Think I am looking for a unicorn.

Outdoorsygirl1 · 27/05/2024 12:55

More affordable living, so utilities, food, housing etc. Dh and I both work in decent paid jobs are barely have any spare money these days.

Investment in schools and education.

Investment in dentistry so that everyone can access and afford dentistry and ortho.

Massive overhaul to public health tackling obesity, smoking and vaping, our diets which in turn would save the NHS money.

Investment in policing

Investment in local parks and green spaces

CormorantStrikesBack · 27/05/2024 13:16

An end to austerity measures

improve the cost of living situation,

nationalising energy companies and trains…..private companies shouldn’t be making profit from essential stuff.

increasing pay for health and teaching staff to combat the staff shortages

increase tuition fees to prevent universities going bust or plug the shortfall themselves

stop arming Israel

process asylum applications quicker so people are either allowed to stay and work or their application is rejected and they have to leave….but stop spending millions on hotel costs

do something about all the crime and violence such as the phone mugging, etc in London. (and anywhere else) The crime is brazen and turning the city into a no go area for many

Make it harder for btl landlords to make a profit so hopefully they have to sell up and more houses for actual first time buyers, etc are available and hopefully prices reduce. Ditto holiday cottages, they need limiting.

dentists!!! NHS waitlists for all areas. Sort these out.

taxguru · 27/05/2024 13:35

Reform business rates so that warehouses pay a lot more and shops/retail/hospitality pay a lot less.

The system was devised at a time when "prime" High Street paid more business rates because of their prime locations. With internet retail, that's reversed now, so warehouses like Amazon and other online suppliers should be charged at least the same per square metre as "prime" High Street premises.

MistyGreenAndBlue · 27/05/2024 13:43

For the benefit bashing to stop. Just stop it. And get rid of the unqualified "assessors" for PIP and DLA and sanction those who have been caught lying about disabled people on their claims.

Repeal the GRA. It serves no one to have a legal fiction written into law.
No human being can change sex and it's about time we said so.

BeachHutsAndDeckchairs · 27/05/2024 14:07

Fully funded public services. You can't make money without spending it.

MPs should be unable to have any financial interest in any company that is funded or run by the government.

Any service that the public rely on, such as water, energy, WiFi and public transport, should be provided by the government.
