Best Wii games?

We finally succombed to the temptation of Wii. 'Sports' is all well and good, and I ordered the 'Wii Fit', but wondering what other games are available.

DH and I are both 37, DD is almost 3. Please suggest games that we will love.

Thank you!

Wii Play is good, and includes a free remote so the game is almost free.

Cooking mama is fun, as is Mario and Sonic at the Olympics. My 3-year-old, however, struggles with most of them if I'm honest. Might just be her though, rather than all 3-year-olds!

I think you can now buy some games specifically for young children, such as Dora/Diego.

CoteDAzur · 16/06/2008 13:22

DD loves bowling but doesn't understand she has to let go of the button to throw the ball. So it's all very interesting but also frustrating for her.

What kind of game is 'Wii Play'?

Is there anything interesting for me & DH?

Where did you order wii fit from!!!???

Wii play is ok.
It has darts, a game where you have to get a ball in some cups, hoops and a couple of others.

claraquitetirednow · 16/06/2008 13:24

I am curious too - but would really love it if people gave a brief description of the games they enjoy as I am totally clueless. We have Wii Sport but haven't tried it yet; I have ordered Wii Fit but am not convinced it will ever arrive, so wondering what else might be worth having.

(sorry to piggy back your question CoteDAzur)

MrsJamin · 16/06/2008 13:25

We've got the Big Brain Academy - it's my favourite, fun to play by yourself or against lots of people.

Iklboo · 16/06/2008 13:25

Mario Kart and Super Mario Galaxy are good no-brainer fun (especially if you add wine into the equation)

Hulababy · 16/06/2008 13:25

As she gets older, Carnival is good fun. It also has lots of mini games, rather than a complicated long game.

ZoeC · 16/06/2008 13:26

Wii Play is a mix of about 9 different mini-games. One involves racing cows and knocking scarecrows over, which actually my 3-year-old really enjoys and doesn't understand she isn't very good at! It also has billiards, a target practice, air hockey. Can't remember what else.

No Mutt your right.
Its Wii game party we have.

MONKEYMONKEY · 16/06/2008 13:40

Gotta be Mario Kart Wii. Playing online is good too.

CoteDAzur · 16/06/2008 18:16

I ordered Wii Fit from Fnac. It's a French electronics store chain, but might deliver in UK.

Can you change the language setting on that site?

Tis good though, they have it in stock and it works out at £70.

CoteDAzur · 16/06/2008 19:28

I looked around just now but there doesn't seem to be a language selection button. Which is odd. But very French

I can translate the words you want to know. Alternatively, you can translate them here.

How much does it cost in UK?

OP posts:
Nbg · 16/06/2008 19:29

It converts to £70.

I just want to know if they ship to the uk and how much it is.
Can you find that bit?

Nbg · 16/06/2008 19:31

My GCSE French is failing me
I can usually pick out odd words but theres nothing on that site.

CoteDAzur · 16/06/2008 19:52

Here. You are in 'Grande-Bretagne'.

Delivery charges don't look expensive but maybe the weight of Wii board might cost extra. It does say a bit further down that you might have to pay import taxes upon receipt and that they can't know how much that will be, you will have to find out yourself.

Thats great.
Thank you very much!

CoteDAzur · 16/06/2008 22:45

You are very welcome

Any other Wii favourites from anybody else?

NotQuiteCockney · 16/06/2008 22:50

Raving Rayman Rabbids is indeed good, 1 better than 2.

I like Guitar Hero. The dance game is just dreadful.

Um, what else ... Warioware?

Oh, maybe Lego Star Wars?

I agree with other people that the games are generally not playable by 3-year-olds.
