Geeky stuff

I want to store about 100 songs on something, to be played randomly - maybe through headphones and in the car - ipod? mp3? I'm very confused and thick so please tell me what I need and how I put the music on.

Cappuccino · 27/03/2008 18:54

you do it through i-tunes

if you have a mac you will have it already

if you have a pc, well, I don't know, because I don't have one

MamaG · 27/03/2008 18:54

oh well thats helpful seeing as I don't have a mac

Did you know I've got a bun in the oven, btw?

OP posts:
Iota · 27/03/2008 18:58

yes ipods and itunes work on pcs

Cappuccino · 27/03/2008 19:00

my ipod shuffle is so small and pretty

Cappuccino · 27/03/2008 19:01

dunno about cars tho

Kbear · 27/03/2008 19:07

DH just got an Ipod shuffle in Argos for 32 quid.

I loaded heaps of music on it for him (cos he is thick like you and couldn't do it). No, truthfully I asked MN what to do ha ha

It is fab.

Dunno about the car though, is there something called an iTrip or did I make that up?

Iota · 27/03/2008 19:08

itrips are illegal in uk.

you can get ipod docks for the car though

zippitippitoes · 27/03/2008 19:09

you need an fm transmitter to play through the car speakers think tesco sell them and other stores

Iota · 27/03/2008 19:10

oh some itrips are now legal see here

MamaG · 27/03/2008 22:15

so if I get an Ipod shuffle in Argos for £32, can I put my own songs on from my own CDs, or do I have to download them all from the tint?

OP posts:
KbearAndHerSweetBippy · 27/03/2008 22:16

Your own CDs no problem, you plug the ipod into your pc, insert the disk, it recognises it, changes the format into Ipod compatible and bob's yer uncle.

KbearAndHerSweetBippy · 27/03/2008 22:17

Register with itunes though and it does it for you. You pick which songs you want or the whole cd then you create a library and then sync it with your Ipod.

It's easy, even for notherners!

Lilymaid · 27/03/2008 22:17

For an i-Pod you have to download the i-tunes program from the Internet but can then create your own library using your own CDs - you don't need to purchase from i-tunes.

MamaG · 27/03/2008 22:17

yay

link me to the one you bought pleeeease

booge · 27/03/2008 22:18

We play our shuffle in the car through the tape player.

KbearAndHerSweetBippy · 27/03/2008 22:18

farking hell, do you want me to come up there and do it for you? some people are so needy.....

hang on....

MamaG · 27/03/2008 22:18

but but but if i register with itunes does that mean I'll have to buy all the songs again?

OP posts:
MamaG · 27/03/2008 22:20
