is the Note just silly? what's the most recent one? am an android fan, have loved the HTC desire for last two years.

ISN'T IT!

Have you got the hang of Swype yet?

Now what's that? I feel like I don't yet know the half of what it can do...

Is there absolutely no way to get the note 2 in your pocket?

I am stuck between s3 and Note 2 (STILL) as I want to break up with Apple. My phone lives in my back pocket you see, but I use it for the internet more than calls.

Honey, i had the same dilemma. In the end I went with the Note because i use it mainly for Internet & watching movies/TV and only occasionally make calls.

The Note 2 is even better than the Note 1 but not enough to make me want to upgrade again. Absolutely amazing phone from an (now ex) apple fan boy.

Aitch. Have you enabled Swype yet? If not, do it. It's transformed the way I type on the phone and it's SOOOOO much faster.

And remember....the problem isnt that your phone is too big...it's that all other phones are too small! I look at every other phone now and they just look like kids toys.

Swype is the swooshy thing where you don't lift your finger off the keyboard except between words. It's very clever.

Apps worth having - flipboard looks amazing, you'll probably want a data/3g monitor as surfing is so easy you forget you're not on wifi, angry birds if you want to keep a child quiet... I've also got spotify as we've got Bluetooth thingies on two stereos so we can play music direct from a phone to a set of decent speakers.which is nice.

I wouldn't keep it on a back pocket, not least cos it's thin, but it's fine in a jacket pocket. And a Bluetooth headset for listening to music and the maybe once a week I actually make or take a phone call on it...

Aaaaaargh!

I don't knoooooooow. Is Jellybean on the S3 now? And can the s3 do everything the note can, bar the s-pen stuff?

I really want the note2 as its NEW and shiny, but s3 might be more sensible.

oooh oooh and get this case Clip on Case

It's dead clever. I have one for my Note 1. It replaces the battery cover which means it only adds the tiniest bit of thickness (the front cover) to the size of the phone.

Yes Honey, you can get JB for the S3 now. And yes...aside from the pen stuff (which I dont use personally) it can do everything the Note can. The S3 is still an awesome phone but I still prefer the Note because of the screen size.

Right. So S3 and an otterbox is probably the best bet for someone who stands in fields a lot and needs to send photos, but rarely has a bag*?

i'd like that case, funnily enough, but it gets TERRIBLE reviews, and doesn't look like it would offer much protection if i dropped it. do persuade me otherwise, cos all the other cases are fuuuuugly.

Oh Sad
I used to have an otter box defender for my iPhone, it was great.

Flip case is great, makes phone seem less unwieldy too

It is and I find it less embarrassing to whip a huge tablet out in public with the cover on for some reason

I LOVE my Note. It is an incredible phone. Don't miss my iPhone one bit. You can absolutely get a Note in a coat pocket or back jeans pocket. At least, I can (and I don't have a particularly large arse).

AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 11/11/2012 14:55

weirdly, it's getting smaller by the minute... och i am just going to order the stoopid case that i actually LIKE.

And it doesn't fall out your pocket?

I'm still stuck between S3 and Iphone5 at the moment

Report
Haberdashery · 11/11/2012 15:07

No, it doesn't fall out of my pocket. Any bigger and it wouldn't fit. It's at the very edge of fitting comfortably!

I decided against the flip cover for my Note 2 as I couldn't see a picture of it anywhere with the cover folded behind the phone, so figured that using it with my left hand would be impossible with that cover and you can't just take it off. I opted instead for a Samsung slip case which is great. It's still slimmer in pocket than my Desire HD and I get to use the phone sans cover which means I get to touch it directly and it feels wonderful in the hand!
