We've had so much rain this winter that I can practically see the plants growing overnight...of course, that means weeds are joining in, also.
I can hardly keep up especially since at least 95% of my gardens are vertical on slopes of varying degrees. I've had to dig footholds to ascend.
Attached photo is of my front garden with the purple iceplant blooming in bunches...I've stuck lots of succulents including a few agave (that have escaped the notice of the ground squirrels and gophers )in between and also little whimsical figurines for the neighbour children who like to walk past and spot them.
A real irritating and abundant weed here is called ' sour grass' because youngsters in the 20th century (me )used to suck on them for a snack and they were a bit sour. They have lovely little yellow flowers.
I apologise that the photo isn't very sharp in focus...didn't want to be accused of altering reality

I can't remember if I've posted about our metal cowboys garden art. Last week DH said, 'Wouldn't it be great if our cowboys had a spotlight on them so we can see them at night?!' ... as a surprise, I scaled the upper slope and put a light on the ' Magnificent Seven' and also one on the lower scouting party. I'd drilled holes in the face of the slope 10 years ago when I installed the 7 and pounded in rebar as handholds and also tied a rock climbing rope so I could go up. All this had to be done on the 'down low' as my DH and neighbour would have a hissy fit if they saw me.
DH loves, loves, loves it so much that now we have to sleep with the drapes open a bit so he can get a peek whilst on a middle of the night loo run.

Yes, Gorgeous. @daisychain01 ..I think we only do amaryllis at Christmas.

Thank you! I planted both bulbs just before Christmas and they are just at their peak now 12 weeks later. Amazing what a mediocre bulb from the supermarket can produce.
