Looks like a hydrangea @Sweetpea1532

That's a nicotiana sylvestris, I think. Taller than the multicolored ones, and (I think) a bit more refined (and taller). When we moved here (32 years ago) they self seeded behind the gate for years. Sadly now all gone, and despite trying I can't get it going again.

KingscoteStaff · 30/09/2023 19:49

@Sweetpea1532 It's a hydrangea bottom right and the very last of the Geranium Rozanne bottom left.

applecatchers36 · 01/10/2023 12:23

Ooh interesting Sweet pea I might have to have a nibble!

AnneKipankitoo · 01/10/2023 13:36

Another view of MIL garden . It was taken by a visitor staying with me just now. I think it has been photo shopped

Another one from Japan. A couple of pics from the garden of the Adachi Museum of Art near Matsue on the north-west coast of Japan's main island of Honshu. Off the beaten track, but voted the number 1 Japanese garden for the last 20+ years by Japan Gardens magazine.

The art collection was impressive, but I suspect most people go there for the garden.

Wonderful, @Cumbrianwife

Sweetpea1532 · 04/10/2023 06:39

@Cumbrianwife your garden is so whimsical🧚‍♀️🧚...I am quite impressed..as @AnneKipankitoo has said, I have a steep garden..., but it doesn't hold a candle to yours, especially with ground squirrels feasting about.☹️
How on earth do you tend to it? Tie a rope around yourself?Grin
I've taken quite a few tumbles.

WobblyLondoner · 06/10/2023 13:26

@macshoto the mounds of green in your second photo are just gorgeous. My photo for today - slightly odd combination of Japanese anemones and a tree fern!

Despite cutting my Lupins back twice, I have a very healthy looking new flower.
And the Snap dragons are back - and I razored them.

That's fabulous late show of colour, @TammyJones.

Here's a cactus in flower. It was divided last year as it had stopped flowering and the smaller divisions are sulking a bit.

@echt
That's beautiful.
Sometimes gardens can look their best late summer/ early autumn.

echt · 13/10/2023 01:17

I should have said I'm in Melbourne and this is mid-spring. Cactus flowers tend to be regular no matter what.
