My MIL roses have black spot.
I have been cutting off the worst and sprayed them this weekend.

Thanks - I will do - just finding them so much more hassle than a lot of the other plants (perennials).
Yes, I think it was rust. I cut off all the infected leaves, took it back to a few clean green leaves & it's done really well since. But the others just look pitiful.
Here's the one that had rust (green one) & here's the one that's dropped its leaves.

This beauty has finally decided to flower. Loads more buds on it too! It must be 8 feet tall, grown from seed sown in March! It always amazes me, nature.

Fabulous sunflower!

Here are some of my clivia; massive blooms, never bigger, though fewer due to overcrowding. so some spadework in autumn.

Beautiful, @echt ...that'll be a big job!

echt · 22/09/2023 03:46

Yes, though my soil is more or less sand, so not the backbreaking work of clay.

Sweetpea1532 · 22/09/2023 03:49

That makes a huge difference...I have sandy soil, too. Flowers

I can't remember which continent you are on? Are you in Oz?..or just have insomnia?😅

macshoto · 22/09/2023 05:22

Not my garden, but that of the ryokan we stayed at in Kyoto last night. Would love to have something like this at home, but the upkeep is immense!

Beautiful @macshoto . A koi under the bridge to adding an orange splash.

Yes. Australia. I'm in the southern suburbs of Melbourne, hence the sand. And many many golf courses. Grin

Oh I love clivia. My dad had a huge plant which he grew indoors (we are in the UK) - I remember being in Australia a few months after he'd died and seeing them outdoors in the botanic gardens and just thinking of him. Gorgeous.

I have a teeny tiny one but no flowers yet!

Loving all these photos!

This year has been a grower's disaster. Hardly a week of consistent warm dry weather. My waterbutts haven't wanted for fresh water!

the only success has been my dahlia, there's always a consolation with gardening! Plus a few crops of delicious lettuce, basil and rocket. And allium in the early summer.

@applecatchers36 your dahlia is gorgeous and the fuchsia is ,too...I was reading that the entire blossom of the fuchsia is edible..I wasn't aware of that. You'll have to have a little nibble and let us know how you like them.Wink

@daisychain01 wow, what a lovely collection of dahlias you have..they almost don't look real. Thanks for sharing!

@AnneKipankitoo yellow roses are one of my favourites...do they have a fragrance? And everything looks so well attended...the grass is so lush, and the trees trimmed just so. Beautiful! Thanks for sharing.

Sweetpea1532 · 30/09/2023 15:13

@KingscoteStaff I'm not familiar with Amni...I'll have to Google it.
What's that little purple flower of the bottom left next to the wall? Violet?

Sweetpea1532 · 30/09/2023 15:15

Ah ha!@KingscoteStaff Queen Anne's Lace.

AnneKipankitoo · 30/09/2023 18:55

Thank you @Sweetpea1532
