Graham Thomas shed rose, peony with irises and my violas (over my bin store😆) which are coming to an end 😢

Ooops… got my men confused 😆

Pink rose is James Galway.

Graham Thomas is the yellow rose below.

Just beautiful! @Gribbit987 I even like your bin storage and especially the colour of your gate- that very pale grayish turquoise behind the roses. Stunning!

Thank you!

Made the bin store last year and elated it’s hanging in there 🤣

Shed door is Little Greene paint in Aquamarine.

Lovely flowers everyone! Especially love that tulip @Gribbit987 :0! And that peony @ApolloandDaphne.

I've finally started to attempt one of the gardens. I'm attempting to make my first ever border. Any tips would be most welcome. Have I put the plants too close together? I want a lovely full border but I'm not sure whether the plants should be spaced out and let time fill them in.

Thank you in advance

A lovely selection of plants.

Would be nice to see how it turns out once planted - please update the thread 😀

We've returned to my mum's home in the Southern US to find the gardenias are really out-doing themselves this year...and the smell is intoxicating...not too lovely when all the blossoms start to die off though...the bushes are covered in dead brown flowers.

Trigger warning! SNAKE!
Forgot to mention I had a little helper hanging out under the hostas today. He looks kind of big, but he's actually about as skinny as a pencil. I decided to google lens him before I released him in case he was poisonous...turns out hes a little brown snake that loves to eat snails and slugs and other garden pests.

The hydrangeas are just starting to bloom..these blue ones are my favourite...The clay soil must be acidic around here because I read that they need a ph of 5.5 or lower to be blue

Mine are only about 6 inches high.
After too hot weather I suppose it must now be too cold , about 12 degrees.

Defiantly41 · 04/06/2025 22:02

@SunComeBackthat berry plant is brilliant, and much loved by robins and pigeons in the winter

applecatchers36 · 05/06/2025 07:26

Gorgeous hydrangeas Sweetpea1532 and interesting about the soil acidity and colour we only had pink here..

Gribbit987 · 14/06/2025 12:20

Garden is blooming. Everything needs watering and deadheading…

Eden’s perfume peony and Silas Marner rose today in the vase. The peonies are as big as my hand!

Plus Paul’s Himalayan Musk rose. Which is too happy and swamping my wild area crowding out the fruit trees. People warned me it’s a beast. But I planted it anyway… a beautiful mistake 😆

@Gribbit987 , your peonies in the vase are so beautiful they will be the subject of a future (study) painting. Thanks for sharing!

The colour of the peonies, the background and the vase touch my soul!
Any other photos of this scene you could share? Thank you.

applecatchers36 · 15/06/2025 22:37

Very new to gardening and hoping someone can advise. I’ve just repotted my shasta Daisies and my Dusty Miller (hoping that’s the correct name) I only planted them in to the ground 3 days ago and as you can see they’ve all dropped or the flowers have fallen off. I know it’s been boiling but I’ve watered early morning and early evening and I see massive daisies still blooming in other people gardens, Where am I going wrong?

They've not had time to get their roots down yet. And teh heat's too much. But they should recover before long.
