To continue into Spring 2022.

Unfortunately, I am not sure how many pictures I will be able to supply this year . Some builders are in building an extension for me .
I might have to live off all your lovely photos. Keep them coming!💐

WobblyLondoner it's a challenge keeping them watered this summer... the sweet peas need a lot I find. The Salvia seems pretty hardy and smells divine!

Lovely @WobblyLondoner .
Sorry it has been so dry .

Woke Sunday morning to find a large branch on the plumb tree almost snapped through.
The weight of all the plumbs had been making it more like a weeping willow.
We have strapped it back up and put a support under the branch , plus tape round the break.
Anyone know if this will save the half ripe plumbs?

@Robin233

Wow, your plum tree is amazing!.I had luck propping up broken limbs on fruit trees in the past...I think it really depends on how snapped the branch was, though...if there is some attachment there it should be fine. You may also want to prop up any other branches that are getting heavy to prevent breaks on those.
My passionfruit is has a medley of props...I had to use anything I had handy.Grin

May I present my new canna? Jaw dropping growth - was nothing there a few months back and now this. Has definitely enjoyed the sun we've been having.

@Robin233 good luck with your plum tree - it looks like a fantastic crop. I have a few branches that look snapped on a tree but they still have healthy leaves so I've left them. I guess you will know quickly how it's responded to your supports. Fingers crossed!

Beautiful specimen, @WobblyLondoner !

Here's a Christmas cactus, revived from a dying plant in our first rental in 2006. It's immense, very heavy and needs dividing. It's in a large shallow bowl and was popped onto another pot to show off the flowers.

Here are my cosmos and sunflowers (Giant Russian) grown from seed. The sunflowers are just getting going.

@BooseysMom
Great sunflower
My cosmos didn't do very well.
I planted them in various places but only one set flowered but they didn't last long.
I have a self seeded sunflower that's doing well - no flower yet.

Robin233 · 09/08/2022 12:36

Update on plum tree.
Seems our temporary fix has worked.
Plum are ripening and I even had a few last night.
