To continue into Spring 2022.

Unfortunately, I am not sure how many pictures I will be able to supply this year . Some builders are in building an extension for me .
I might have to live off all your lovely photos. Keep them coming!💐

@ValBiro
Looks great.
Love the Alliums!

AncientAzalea · 17/05/2022 09:42

@ValBiro that patch of planting is beautiful

starlingdarling · 17/05/2022 18:59

My lupin "masterpiece" is flowering and I'm in love. It makes up (ever so slightly) for the allium sensation that started popping up only to be used as a boxing tool by my cat (he's knocked the flower heads off of 6 out of 10 Sad!).

@Chasingsquirrels if you like irises it's worth listening to the recent podcast from Let's Grow Girls with India Hurst from Verveine Flowers.

ValBiro · 17/05/2022 19:17

Those with flowering lupins are you down south? Mine are nowhere near ready yet!

Chasingsquirrels · 17/05/2022 22:49

East Anglia here, just outside Cambridge

starlingdarling · 18/05/2022 07:29

I'm in Bedfordshire not far from Chasing Squirrels. We've had a very mild winter and quite a bit of sun for the past few weeks. I'm still waiting for my roses to bloom though. They've had buds for weeks but nothing has opened yet. I'm convinced they will bloom just as we get a long overdue rainy spell.

AnneKipankitoo · 18/05/2022 07:48

Wonderful @starlingdarling and @ValBiro
I had lupins once . They did not like my garden .

After several weeks of waiting I'm just going to call this open, even if it's not quite there yet. It's a Ferdinand Pichard rose. I had two blooms last year (it's first year) but there are about 30 buds on it now Grin

Purple Cape jewels, hydrangea, scented geranium (white) and a beautiful pink geranium. I also have a scabosia (I think that's the name) in the same planter.

Hello everyone, I've not been on this thread for a long time but have been enjoying looking back at your photos. This is my favourite time of the year (except for the ruddy pollen) for my garden. The best flowers at the moment are the foxgloves, although there are some lovely aquilegia too - the white ones I grew from seed but I've no idea where the yellow ones came from.

@BeaLola your peony is amazing. I've never tried growing them, either the standard peony or the tree peony, I don't have enough space.

That colour!

Here is my clematis, after it’s flowered I am going to cut it right back as I think it needs rejuvenating but I’m slightly anxious it will never, ever be this lovely again. It’s just taking over the garden right now.

Ooh I love all the peonies! I bought a tuber from Sainsburys last year with zero knowledge of peonies. I was quite disappointed that it amounted to two leaves after putting it in a huge pot. It's ten times the size this year and I now know it needs to establish. I've taken two flower buds off it and have left two because Im desperate to see what it looks like.

My (few) alliums are almost in full bloom and very popular with the bees

I meant to say the first photo with the bee is in shade, the second photo is in the sun. It's allium sensation and very vibrant.
