How are they doing?
I wanted to show ( brag) you a photo of the first two blooms out on Eustacia Vye. She's gorgeous and smells utterly divine.
Hope the other pet roses you all have are equally successful!

Oh no @Theteapotsbrokenspout that's disappointing. Sounds like a dud one with growth from the rootstock. I would contact them again and ask for a replacement. Hope you get a better response (you should send a link link to this thread to show them how what good customers we all are!)

LizTaylorsFabulousTurban · 05/07/2021 14:43

English Miss and Constance Spry. Planted bare root stock last year and this year they have put on quite a show. Have nine altogether, and am constantly wanting more!

That’s what I was thinking, it’s growth from the rootstock. Grin at sending them a link to the thread.

@Pottedpalm

I really wanted a standard Princess Alexandra of Kent, as the scent is fabulous; I already have a shrub one. None available so I bought a standard Princess Anne instead. It looks very lovely surrounded by a deep purply blue lavender and Alchemilla Mollis., alternating.
This is Princess Alexandra of Kent, plus my beautiful Princess Diana clematis

Hi rose lovers. I’m new to gardening.
I planted this in April. It’s a DA climber called The Generous Gardener. it was just a stick when I put it in, but can anyone confirm whether it is looking okay? No flowers at all yet, but I feel very protective of it.

That looks a lot better than my Mortimer Sackler @ThreeKneeRepeater.

I love David Austin roses, here's mine Kew Gardens and Munstead Wood. They both smell amazing at the moment too. I feel like it's been a great year for roses, I keep nosying at them in people's gardens.

These are all lovely . I have two Claire Austin’s and a Desdemona. They are lovely and doing really well. I have a few other roses which aren’t DA. One of my favourites is Hot Chocolate. It’s gorgeous.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 05/07/2021 20:10

I’ve got Desdemona as well, a group of three - they’re doing really well and smell gorgeous.

OneMoreForExtra · 05/07/2021 20:20

Your Generous Gardeners look lovely - I killed mine by planting it too close to another by mistake Sad Will try again in a better place next year.

My Gertrude Jekyll is going great guns and Albrighton Rambler and Pilgrim both putting on good growth - they're all new this year. Desdemona from last year is looking/smelling amazing.

Just putting DD to bed and I'll be back with photos. Also taking note of some stunners for next year from your collections!

Forgot to say planted in pots in early april,

reprehensibleme · 05/07/2021 20:45

And for anyone who hasn't been, the nursery is wonderful (combine with RAF Cosford for a brilliant and diverse day out) Grin

Guardup · 05/07/2021 20:58

This is my Boscobel I bought as a bare root. Really impressed with how healthy it is.

I also have Vanessa Bell and Claire Austin in their 2nd year and they are flowering prolifically.

Just love them all. I am adding Sunmer Song to my wish list having seen @VenusClapTrap photo- just beautiful

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 07/07/2021 13:58

3 of mine

Wild Edric - the blooms are absolutely enormous, bigger than my fist.
Tranquility (white) and Benjamin Britten, in a pot. BB had been red, but has changed to a coral and raspberry. Scent is just incredible

Lady Emma Hamilton is finally flowering. She has been a lot slower to get going than the others

First two pics are Kew Gardens rose which can be used as hedging. Its a repeat flowere and omg for its first year its amazing!! I bought two and am planting them in a huge trough planter to site the full length of the garage wall. 3rd pic is a small repeat flowering rambler called Snow Goose. All roses are thornless as i really dont do thorns or prickles. The Snow goose has almost rubbery plyable stems so great for tying to the trellis next to clematis.
