Hi gardeners, I love looking at all these pics and garden chat. I just wanted to share this as I’m really pleased with how the Salvia Amistad and Verbena rigida Santos Purple look together. My first project in my new garden this year has been to plant a purple border. It’s making me happy when I sit in the garden with a drink in the evenings!

Purple is a very relaxing colour.

One for the doggie lovers...

Actually lots of the garden is a bit chaotic at the moment 😬. I picked the nicest photos to post 😂. For example, the parsley in the herb bed is about 5 feet tall and has all gone to seed. It's in the same bed as the sweet peas but the heads just look stunning, as good as any flower, so I can't bring myself to chop it back!

Similarly the cottage garden has gone crazy with everlasting sweet pea, knautia and borage all jumbled up with alliums, salvias, some massive globe thistles and Japanese anemone . Every year I tell myself I will be more restrained the following year and I never am 😂😂😂

Excuse the terrible picture quality, but the most vivid thing seen in my tiny garden today- a ruby tailed wasp (I think?)

My hometown has claimed the title of "Watermelon Capital of the World"...which entails a festival with a young miss being named "Watermelon Princess" 😂
One year the watermelons weren't ripe enough at the time of the festival so they had to be shipped in from Calif to my town in the southern part of the US...that'll learn them to be bragging about being the Capital of the World

Watermelon Sugar! My new favourite music video!!!
Do yall have seedless Watermelon in the UK? I wouldn't be surprised if you don't as they are genetically modified for the seedless trait....they've been around the US for about 50 years...the original farmer had only so many seeds when he first engineered them...seeds were very expensive as were the melons...I guess his trademark/patent has expired as the seedless variety is very inexpensive now and plentiful...the seedless melons took some of the fun out of Watermelon eating though because as a child it was a real treat to see who could spit their seeds the furtherest...of course, there was also a seed spitting competition at the festival, too....cant remember the record, though😂
