Thanks again for starting it @AlwaysOnAbloodyDietGrin

Ooh can I join in pls and show you the best Lily I've ever grown? It's about 4 or 5 years old, in the same pot all that time. Am trying to muster the strength to weed and tidy the whole garden but have been reading this thread for an hour!

Those poppies are stunning oldraver.

My white agapanthus - I cant remember whether I planted it in 2016 or before, this is its first year of flowering. And my new patio at the far end of my small garden ... I have wanted a circular patio for about 20 years! Sad but true!

My hydrangea (in a pot) that is really like to plant in my newly dug border. When is the best time to replant it? Do I have to wait until the flowers are finished?

That's a beautiful Hydrangea @grumpypug
Smile

Yes, I never disturb or move plants whilst they're in bloom.

It must be quite a large pot! Grin

@AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet it's a HUGE pot! I love my hydrangea. It was a tiny cutting my dad have to me a couple of years ago and I love the bright pink flowers. I know a hydrangeas flowers depend on the soil so I hope it stays bright pink when I move it!

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 02/08/2019 21:50

I think it's only blue Hydrangea that change colour depending on the soil, so it should be ok 🤞
That's so amazing, that it was a cutting from your dad!

I love the pots @Iamtooknackeredtorun 🌺

I had a magnificent blue hydrangea last year - absolutely massive flower heads. You can see it in the white agapanthus photo above ... tiny pink flower heads this year 🤷🏻‍♀️. You can use anything that makes the soil acidic to change the colour to blue - my dad used to bury a piece of rusty iron (old gutter etc) when I was growing up to keep his hydrangeas blue.

Oldraver · 03/08/2019 08:59

I'm loving the lilies, o used to have a few Day Lillies some unusual colourings but the new cat tried to eat them.

They spent a year under cover then they were given away. We get the occasional photo to show how their doing

I wash going to post a photo of my new Agapanthus but I'm being told TMI.. Too Many Images

Strugglingtodomybest · 03/08/2019 09:13

A couple from my very messy garden, but the first shows how much the bees love it and the second is a hydrangea that I brought from MIL's house before we sold it after she died. I'm so pleased it's thriving, and I know she would be too.

That is such a vibrant blue @Strugglingtodomybest
What a lovely thing you did, and I'm sure it reminds you of her, when you see it?

The first of my Japanese anemones finally bloomed today. I planted something like 20 of them last year (pink and white)
My neighbour's pink are in full bloom and look stunning 🌸
