<oh the glamour>

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

What a perfect thread for this evening. I love all the pics and stories.
DD has provided chocolate supplies, cat is on lap and I’m currently looking through Disney + to find something light hearted whilst scrolling MN

CinnamonOrangeCremeBrulee · 17/08/2022 20:05

Mine are a bit less glam.
I used to work in a (semi) posh health club we had lots of B list celebs members Eamon Holmes Margherita Taylor, Duncan Goodhew and Barry Venison. Sir David Ammes was also a member (polite and lovely) as was Margaret Becket and Tiggy Legge-Bourkes brother lol , he was nice.
My favourite was Linda Baron. Not my favourite was a certain member of the Goldsmith family who was arrogant and rude about getting his friends in for free allegedly..

I met Ken Bates when I interviewed for a job at Chelsea FC .

Dd was most disappointed to miss Mason Mount last night ...he was at the football club she was working at apparently.

I'm on the 'homemade' Christmas card list of a famous TV vicar.

NCTDN · 17/08/2022 20:10

I don't know anyone famous Hmm

MirandaWest · 17/08/2022 20:10

I am watching the European Athletics. There was an amusing moment when a Swedish person got their triple jump wrong and ended up the wrong way up on the sand. They laughed about it too.

I don't know why I thought the Vicar of Dibley...she's not real.

Does this Vicar have a Greyhound? My Greyhound might follow her on Insta if so.
He is quite famous ...on Instagram, a Greyhound influencer lol

I’m not sure I’ve met anyone famous. I lead a dull life.

To continue the dull theme I have won first prizes for accountancy exams.

CinnamonOrangeCremeBrulee · 17/08/2022 20:24

My contribution is a very chilled out lemur I saw last week!

Monkey2001 · 17/08/2022 20:31

As a child I went up on stage at a panto and was the only child willing to kiss Lionel Blair - I got 2 bags of sweets! How things change......

<rifles through past experiences to dig out famous encounters> I helped David Dimbleby carry his new photocopier into his house once. I had been interviewing him, And he said I had natural
journalistic ability (I am not a journalist…).

ProggyMat · 17/08/2022 21:06

Legs back in and hopes my coat is still on ‘my’ bar stool without the need to have a philosophical debate about whether the only thing that keeps a seat is an arse.
No offerings of famous peeps apart from my encounter with the bloke that played Brian Tisley in Corrie. He was ‘unceremoniously draped’ half in and half out of a sports car outside a well known nightclub asking women if they wanted his autograph.
We declined.
@singingstones 😂- mind you , I wouldn’t kick Alun Wyn Jones outta my bed!

EwwSprouts · 17/08/2022 21:10

Celebrities are a bit short on the ground in rural Yorkshire but I won a MN competition years ago to go an LTA function. It was an amazing experience to see inside the Speaker's apartment & meet a very charming Greg Rusedski. Speaker Bercow was not charming.

Fruitygal · 17/08/2022 21:14

DH once told the celebrity comedian in front of him at the bar during a very famous west end musical premiere - ‘you don’t want to buy a soft drinks the alcoholic ones are far cheaper’ …. DH didn’t know he was celebrity….😂🤣 or the fact he’d just come out of the Priory inpatient treatment for alcoholism - it was Frank Skinner ?!?! Mortifying but funny

Fruitygal · 17/08/2022 21:25

My DDs friend resat UKCAT today for 2023 and aced it !! Over 3000 so we’ve sat watching the repair shop - icing cupcakes for her friend when she sees her tomorrow!! Found some celebrations choccies at work so brought a handful home ( not the bounties) which we have nibbled on !!!
