Sorry you had to deal with that whistl hope your DS is ok. Could you explain it for him in terms of their generation were very fixated on feeding people up so it was more a dig at the parents or host than at him. My grandparents and my mother to an an extent were never happy unless they were feeding people !!

Oratory1 · 01/01/2019 16:20

I’m third in the queue for Michelle in this house - dh says it’s very readable.

Oh and ds stayed over and finally texted for a lift back at 2 30 - so much has changed since last year !! And will probably change again in the next 12 months

Stickerrocks · 01/01/2019 19:26

DD was collected at 1pm today. They had a couple of pints each, got a bit chilled and giggly and went to sleep around 5am.

Happy New Year everyone.

Can I ask a massive favour. My son’s theatre group needs votes to get funding support. I can’t tell you how being part of that group has helped him through difficult times and how their belief in him, an autistic boy has made a difference (well I could but we’d be here all night).

If anyone could possibly vote the link is here.

AH VOTED! I'm assuming it's Five Towns and not the Greyhounds!Grin Good luck!

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 01/01/2019 21:51

Which one do we vote for Alexander?

AlexanderHamilton · 01/01/2019 22:17

Five Towns Theatre.

They are losing at the moment.

TheFirstOHN · 01/01/2019 22:21

Done, but Five Towns is currently trailing on 39%, unfortunately.

EllenJanesthickerknickers · 01/01/2019 23:49

Done. Xmas Smile

AlexanderHamilton · 02/01/2019 00:22

People obviously prefer dogs to children.

LimitIsUp · 02/01/2019 00:39

I've voted for Five Towns because its your ds, but if I were a true impartial tbh I would probably have voted for the greyhounds (who will be pts if not rehomed). Its a tough charity to go up against

sandybayley · 02/01/2019 07:22

Done! Good luck Five Towns.

Stickerrocks · 02/01/2019 08:24

Oh dear, the Greyhounds are racing away with it, but hopefully the power of this thread will win through. There is another theatre group listed underneath as well.

30 years ago today I went for a 2 night university interview and left with a new best friend and an unconditional offer. Today I'm taking my DFiL to hospital for his latest leukaemia treatment. I wouldn't have married DH if I hadn't had so much fun on the open days and decided to take the easy route. Proof I suppose that decisions in the 6th form can have long reaching consequences.

It is funny to think how life decisions pan out.

Hope your fil’s treatment goes well.

ShalomJackie · 02/01/2019 17:44

I can't get through on the link - has voting closed?

AlexanderHamilton · 02/01/2019 19:10

There has been unacceptable intimidating behaviour comments and behaviour towards voters and the pages of the four charities. How very sad.

Ds was also involved in one of the other theatre groups nominated, however we felt that Five Towns were more deserving for various reasons and many of ds’s friends are members of both.

I don’t know which groups were involved but it’s a sad world.

Stickerrocks · 02/01/2019 21:09

Oh my goodness, how silly. Trolling charities! What a shame.

What was the outcome of the poll, AH? Hope there was a large surge for Five Towns.
