I am in desperate need of help. I have tried to do it on my own but I am running out of time. My SSW doesn't even understand the question I'm on now. It's 5.6 understanding contexts. I have only two weeks to finish it now and I really need to have a look at some examples of answers to the remaining questions so I have an idea of what is expected of me. If anyone can show me some examples or help in any way, I will be extremely thankful. I promise I won't copy your answers, I just need an example to get myself going.

Please Can anyone share their completed TSD workbook with me? I've struggled through to 5.8 and I think my brain died months ago. I'm now well over due with it all and have quite a bit left to do. I think my problem is that even though I'm reasonably capable I can't understand the way they have written the questions and I also can't condense my answer as which makes me such a 'waffler. ' If anyone wants to see what I've written so far your more than welcome, just let me know.

My e-mail address is :- [email protected]

Thank you

Hello,

I've got nearly to end of Standard 5 and I'm quite happy to share that with you so that you get some ideas. I cant guarantee mine is correct and I have waffled on a lot but that's the only way I can manage to get the info down.

My e-mail is :- [email protected]

Id be happy to review anyone else's books/sections, if it helps. I finished mine last year, but because it contains highly sensitive information, I cant send it out. However, if there is a specific section you are struggling with, Im happy to send heavily edited versions of that section to you. PM me.

jane1061 · 05/12/2014 18:17

Hi All
Can someone please give me some advice on what qualifications you officially need to become a foster parent and Should all foster carers have these qualifications?
If someone has been fostering for a long time, do they need to upgrade and complete NVQs levels and is so what quals do they need? Is it CWDC?

wonderpants · 05/12/2014 20:06

You don't need any 'qualifications' however there is mandatory training which includes the training standards!

jane1061 · 07/12/2014 12:47

Thanks wonderpants. How regular does training take place? Is it on a yearly basis?

wonderpants · 07/12/2014 14:00

Feels like weekly at the start!! It is a ongoing process. There is lots that have to be done in the first year though!

Hi im relatively new & really need some help im stuck on tsd 3.4 personal safety and security & im seriously running out of time. Still got tons to do in a busy house its getting depressing with so much to do. If you could help id be very grateful. My email address is [email protected] thank you xx

scarlet5tyger · 18/12/2014 14:59

Sorry, off topic, but I just wanted to remind everyone giving out email addresses that appear to show full names that this is a public forum and used by social workers, birth parents etc.

Might be safest to suggest that anyone offering help contacts you by PM instead rather than risk a SW or parent linking your name and nickname then keeping an eye on your future posts.

kind regards claire

wonderpants · 15/01/2015 14:03

I've always wondered if this post actually ever results in people getting the stuff emailed to them?

FannyFanakapan · 16/01/2015 15:48

I cannot imagine anyone sending a complete workbook to anyone. Its a deeply personal document about your own responses to challenges faced by the children in your care.

However, I have helped out some people with specific sections when I can send heavily edited details - also, some sections are generic, so there is no risk of breaching a child's confidentiality.

People asking for completed workbooks - you need to ask your SSW if they have one.
