sidge · 22/06/2007 11:02

DH in his uniform (except his trop suit as he looks like an ice cream man)

Mess functions - the RN really know how to organise a ball.

LL-I can't believe you don't like those lovely white socvks and shoes....better than the white overalls though

saltire · 22/06/2007 11:53

littlelapin, you are winding us up, who wears white shorts and long white socks then?

LL - the whole white shorts, shoes and socks thing is SO not a good look - less Officer and a Gentleman and more Albino Postman...

But I luurrve his mess undress

The Amry number 2's are yuk, but Dh in his blues is phwoar

McDreamy · 22/06/2007 17:16

I can vouch for the long white socks thing. I feel really sorry for the minority of naval personnel out here! They do look smart though The RAF mess light weight mess dress makes them look like waiters, swap the blue jacket for a white one and it looks like there are more waiters than guests at most functions

saltire · 22/06/2007 22:45

My DH's number 1 and 2 uniform look great, much better than all that green combat stuff he occasionally has to waer.
And he has a white hat too!

I have made a coupe of comments but I'm so angry and upset. I think you are right, just ignore is the best policy.

I'm almost scared to ask, but I will any way...what "other" thread?

TrinityRhino · 24/06/2007 08:15

I think it was called 'forses section'
began by a small minded, ignorant man

my dh had some choice words for him when I was telling him about the thread
