anyone want to join me in cutting down the alcohol?

Had too many drinks last night whilst out with the girls. Have got into a bad habit of having a drink every day too. Wondered if anyone would like to join a mutual support group?!!

weesaidie, what on earth did you do under the influence? Please tell all.

CD - yes, that's kind of what I'm trying, a bit of reverse psychology works wonders As tomorrow is a non-drinking day am going to have a movie night and eat loads of popcorn, get DVD and snuggle under duvet on sofa.

also, I have been having the odd fag when drinking (whoops) so really must only drink two nights a week to keep fags in check.

Oh god, I kind of want to tell, hence mentioning it all, but it is pretty bad.

(Just making sure you know here I am a single mum).

Basically I went out with my mum, auntie, sister and friend and that is where I drank all the wine. I got home fairly early as we met at 6.30pm and decided it would a good idea to phone my ex. Not my recent ex but my first ever serious boyfriend whom I recently got back in touch with (after buying a computer off him). Then I decided it would a good idea to go over to his place....

I am sure you can guess the rest.

Yes. I think that it was a combination of the copious amounts of alcohol and that I have been in an 'I want a boyfriend' phase.

He was pretty affectionate this morning and when I mentioned a film I wanted to see he said something about coming with me.... oops!

It was fun. At the time.

oh to be single again! Anyway is this a good advert for drinking alcohol? or does it make us want to stop?

I would like to join as well. I have been drinking too much wine recently, and decided last weekend to stop until Christmas. Can't say i'm feelin any better physically - in fact, I'm a bit 'run down' and I'm drinking copious amounts of tea with sugar, which is probably not helping me feel 'toxin-free'
I'm going to try switching to more herbal teas

When I was pregnant, I used to drink tomato juice whenever I went out - I find it's easier to make it last (I guzzle other soft drinks) and the tabasco kick makes up somewhat for the lack of alcohol!

I'm lucky in that my dp doesn't drink much really, so not much of a bad influence on me in that respect

I feel I have to be 'all or nothing', I 'm not v good at leaving an opened bottle untouched

Hi everyone. Haven't drunk anything since last Wednesday, mostly cos got horrendous cold. Not cutting out completely though but trying to cut down. Have lost a few pounds - woo hoo!!

Have been on hols in france for two weeks so as you can imagine have well and truly fallen off the wagon !! Back to it now though - have lasted ONE whole day (and two counting today but its not over yet so.......)

teeavee - I'm the same as you. Either have to have a lot or none at all!!

Well, just thought I would update you all.

No drink on Friday, had a few vodkas on Saturday when at the pub, but wasn't drunk.

I had decided not to drink at all in the week but on Monday night I had a poker night and not drinking at such an event (in my experience) is nigh impossible! But again, not too much! Did have a wee flirt with a male friend. Always flirt with each other but nowt ever happens!

Hope everyone else is doing well.

Have managed a week so celebrated with the last drop of gin that was in the house. Won't have anything Thurs and Fri but probably will have wine at weekend. Not too bad really
