They are about the only thing I remember making from a kid's cookery book - they were squares of cod wrapped in foil and that's about all I remember. They were rank.

This is the book my mum got me when I was little. The cover is different but the inside is just the same. It's ace. One of the best cookbooks ever. I still use it now!

scrappydappydoo · 29/06/2010 19:35

tomato soup?
stupids amounts of sweet things - cakes, sweets, desserts..

5inthebed · 29/06/2010 19:36

Fishfinger sandwich?
Ds1 has a cook book with said sandwich in it, complete with tomato sauce. Who doesn't know how to make one?

CerealOffender · 29/06/2010 19:39

annabel karmel adn a ridiculously fussy dd cured off every looking at these books. there is no fecking point in sculpting food into comedy shapes your children are not stupid.

FolornHope · 29/06/2010 19:46

Is it the Anabel Karmel book that has recipes for sandwiches? I think I closed it permanently after I saw that.

MrsBadger · 29/06/2010 20:08

today I actually tried the much-vaunted kids cookbook trick of freezing banans then blendin gthem with milk to make no-icecream milkshake

I was expectign it to be awful but it was fab and -I- dd wolfed it

overripe bananas will no longer become muffins chez badge

JulesJules · 29/06/2010 20:21

Knickerbocker Glory
Ice cream soda

Think it was an AK book which said to make your sandwiches into little trains or boats (picture of sandwich shaped like flying scotsman, with cress 'smoke', carrot axles and half cucumber wheels etc ) "your toddler will soon let you know his preferences!"

Next chapter, how to make a rod for your own back...

Katisha · 29/06/2010 20:25

As for the recipes in the Roald Dahl Revolting Recipes book. I get the feeling no-one has actually tested them. We certainly can't make them work...

FolornHope · 29/06/2010 20:41

oh bugger just chucked two bananas out
