I am looking for new ideas for toppings to have with jacket potatoes

What are your favourites please?

Bacon mixed with melted cheese and barbecue sauce.. not the low fat option but very nice.

Tuna and sweetcorn mayo topped with cheese then melted under the grill.

Sausage casserole/leftover stew/bolognese very good too.

Coleslaw?

Low fat would be good for me but also ideas for the kids.

Sauteed leeks with tinned salmon and creme fraiche.

Prawns and mayo is another good one but good old cheesy baked beans is always a winner in our house.

Roast beef and blue cheese (ideally with the cheese melted)
Chicken, sweetcorn and mayo
chicken and crispy bacon
cottage cheese and sweet chilli sauce

Brocoli and cheese sauce
Feta, sundried tomato and olives
Cottage cheese and crispy bacon
Rattatouille

Onions and spinach stir-fried with ground coriander and cumin. Add smoky bacon, cheese and/or a boiled egg if you want.

Cottage cheese and black pepper, with a huge salad on the side.

Cheese and mushrooms
Cauliflower cheese
Leeks in cheese sauce

(hmm, all cheese based I've just realised but I am vegi)

smoked salmon (you can buy small packs of slices for a about £1.50 in sainsburys) - I then use 1/2 a pack with a huge dollop of philedelphia.

sounds unremarkable but is surprisingly pleasing

also chilli and crumbled cheddar [slaver]

Curried beans with melted cheese. Yum!

Onions, mushrooms, philadelphia and paprika
all cooked and mixed up together.

Green beans, walnuts and creme fraiche
Cashews, sugar snaps, cherry toms covered in balsamic glaze.

Kids love -
Beans and sausages
chickpeas and garlic philly
red pepper sauce with quorn and some veggys.

we have baked tatties most weeks and were very stuck in a rut with same old fillings but thanks to tesco 3 for a tenner we've rediscovered king prawns so are having prawns in marie rose sauce, yum! kids not impressed but that just means all the more for dh and I!

liliputlady - that sounds nice.

Confuzzeled - talk to me about quorn. Is it a good food or something for once a week or so? I am fussy what the kids eat but tbh Dh and I probably eat too much meat some weeks so a substitute might be worth considering. DH wouldn't eat tofu so haven't tried quorn.

Quorn is a processed food so it's not the best thing in the world. But it is low in fat, salt and doesn't have too much rubbish in it. My kids have it at least a couple of times a week.

Houmous with baked beans, and coarse ground black pepper.

Canned tuna, mixed with raw grated carrot and finely sliced raw red onion. Mix with a little mayo if desired. This is one of my favourites and v cheap and cheerful!
