A MARROW - are they having a LAUGH? I thought this was just a comedy vegetable for flower shows.

Does anyone have a recipe involving marrow which is TASTY?

Anything which involves using the marrow as CONTAINER does not count.

I'm with Riverford but haven't been getting a single marrow ner ner ner ner ner!!!!!

as for you Marina I am appalled: first you think david Tennant is fey, and now I learn you once put marmite in onion soup............

The marrow growers are RIVERFORD I'm afraid!

ScummyMummy: I've been to St John - bloody hell I spent about £100 on rabbit liver on toast and pigs trotters - I had a stomach like concrete for two days and swear I needed a colonic irrigation afterwards. The bone marrow was AWFUL, I don't know why they didn't just serve up a dog chew and have done with it.

Boy, your organic box schemes are a bit grim if you can't say what you like and dislike. That's awful!

Merlin · 29/07/2005 22:41

I will not hear a bad word against the marrow.

I LOVE them, lightly boiled with loads of black pepper - YUM!!!!

hunkermunker · 29/07/2005 22:42

Careful, guys - the marrow's listening...

hunkermunker · 29/07/2005 22:51

Are you all scared now?

hunkermunker · 30/07/2005 21:34

Must have been terrified - LOL!

Caligula · 30/07/2005 21:57

hunkermunker · 30/07/2005 22:04

Corbin · 03/08/2005 04:50

I've never heard of a marrow...from what I got off google, it just looks like a courgette? Is some sort of horrific mutant courgette?

Tetley · 03/08/2005 08:40

My mum used to make marrow & ginger jam - which both her & my dad loved, but Ii thought it was horrible!

However I love stuffed marrows - specially one I do which has a bit of Dolmio type tomato sauce in the bottom, then a layer of ham, then crack in a couple of eggs, then sprinkle with cheese, & bake. It's fantastic

bobbybob · 03/08/2005 08:46

A marrow is a courgette that everyone forgot about.

Corbin · 03/08/2005 20:19

LOL Bobby- A Horrific Mutant Courgette then. People actually eat those? All pithy and tough.
