Roll on summer, its the only time we can eat what we grow. We have a fruit and veg van come outside the house each week, and most weeks outside the summer I buy:

  • Carrots
  • Broccoli
  • Butternut squash
  • Potatoes
  • Celery - God I love celery
  • Cucumber
  • Peppers
  • Salad stuff
  • Spinach
  • Onions, red and white

In the summer we grow our own courgettes, broad beans, French beans, peas, tomatoes, salad leaves, herbs, blackcurrants, rhubarb, blackberries, raspberries, loganberries, apples, chillis and peppers and I resent buying these at any other time of year ( except the salad and the peppers, which DD is mad for ). I want to grow sweetcorn when I cultivate some more space as everyone here loves it really fresh.

Fruit I buy:

  • Apples
  • Bananas
  • Grapes
  • Melon
  • Pineapple in the winter
  • Frozen raspberries
  • Lemons and limes
  • Satsumas
  • Oranges

I also love celeriac and fennel but am the only one so have it rarely.
