What makes you punch the air and say, "YESSSS! They've got X!"

We're having an afternoon birthday gathering of close friends and family at home. There will be a few toddlers and maybe 20 ish adults.

So what would you be chuffed to see?

mmm yes, I think things on sticks are essential. I may even get DP to make some kind of hedgehog formation to wow my guests with our presentation skills.

god I love chicken nuggets too. Are they a faff to make do you think? Obv there'll be no tortured chickens anywhere near our buffet chicken don't you know!

Oh I am drooling. Absolutely bloody adore party food. Vol au vents could be mushroom, or chicken, or salmon & creme fraiche. Definitely home made cheese straws. Finger rolls, with lovely fillings. (Sighs and remembers flabby stomach).

sushi - the rolled kind

mini chicken skewers witha nice glaze or dip

mini versions of big food like pies, tarts, mini quishes, mini cornish pasties etc

Bruscetta

figs wrapped in parma ham

Costa, what do you consider a lovely sandwich filling? Someone (in RL) has just suggested cheese, apple and hummous. What else is nice?
