What food do you hate but really thought you would like?

I love fish but these have put me off food for at least half an hour!!

Courgettes aren't bitter!

Lager. The colour is so lovely and toasty and caramely but the taste is all bitter and vile.

I'm not sure how you would have to cook a courgette to make the middle like snot. Are you sure they weren't going rotten?

Baby seals

prawn coleslaw - love prawns, love coleslaw so stands to reason I would love prawn coleslaw. Wrong - it very nearly made me vomit the one and only time I tried it. Yuk!

Goji berries. Sun-dried rabbit shit.

It's just the way it is, for me they are bitter and snotty. I had to think long and hard about things I should like but dont. I love food, and pretty much everything else on the list goes down a treat, apart from the baby seals which apparently taste like rabbit

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who doesn't like wine. I don't really like any alcohol (except maybe Pimms) and I always feel like a freak!

I don't like meat either, although I wish I did. I really want to like omelettes as well, but I hate them (and most things eggy).

quinoa. I am a lentil-weaver but it looks and smells like semen.
Salmon. ( I love fish, but salmon just stastes wierd to me)

mollyroger - WHAT are you doing to your quinoa to make it look like semen??? Or indeed what are you doing to your DH/DP to make his semen look like quinoa? Agree that is does taste a bit spunky though.

Truffles. Not the chocolate variety, they are obviously very lovely. But the fungal type. I have a friend who insists on serving pasta with truffles grated over the top and I just think it tastes like dirt. I keep wanting to say "save your money and spend it on booze, we'll all have a better time"...
