Chicken Liver pate with onion marmalade and toasted granary bread

MintChocAddict · 30/03/2009 22:18

Pate here too. TTC at the moment and each time I get a BFN I treat myself to some brussels pate to cheer me up!
I'm also partial to bruchetta. Yum.

JudithChalmers · 30/03/2009 22:18

Why?

norksinmywaistband · 30/03/2009 22:20

Love pate, BUT if whitebait is on the menu, I am unable to select an alternate starter

JudithChalmers · 30/03/2009 22:20

i hate soup as a starter

Proper old fashioned h'ors d'oeuvres like you used to get in Italian restaurants in the 1970s

or

small serving of garlicky mussells.

latermater · 30/03/2009 22:27

Those little brown shrimps stuffed into a tomato with mayo (only in Belgium though - it never tastes the same anywhere else). Or potted shrimps.

me an all for the brie / camembert.

also prone to a bit of tart - goat's cheese or sweet onion.

generally i LOVE starters and would rather have several of them than anything on the main course menu.

sweetkitty · 30/03/2009 22:28

Warm goats cheese with caramelised red onions on some ciabatta, mmm.

dietstartstomorrow · 30/03/2009 22:32

I love any starters with either king prawns or mushrooms.

MoreSpamThanGlam · 30/03/2009 22:32

Aaparagus with either butter and lemon...or....with cheese sauce on top, a sprinkle of parmesan and nutmeg and small chopped fresh sweet tomatoes, then grilled...slurp!!!!!!!!!!!!

Onion bhaji!

Asparagus always good.

I like dips etc as a starter a lot as well, especially mezze type.

Garlic mushrooms, mushrooms in cheese sauce, breaded mushrooms etc.

JudithChalmers · 31/03/2009 09:31
