I love the title of this thread and was happy to see it again! have had a very virtuous two days myself as I got a very dodgy tummy Sun night after eating out. So I've had nothing but rice, cabbage, and marmite sandwiches...but back to normal tomorrow no doubt.

codswallop · 24/06/2003 21:42

thanks soya - it wa smine. i have weaned myself off them now. am on Lindt excellence chocolate - a step up in the chocolate social hierachy

soyabean · 24/06/2003 21:45

And surely a punnet of strawberries is positively good for you anyway? (2 or 3 portions of fruit)

codswallop · 24/06/2003 21:49

double cream?

Finbar · 24/06/2003 21:52

This morning I found a chunky Kit Kat hidden by DH in the cupboard ...it lastest about 3 minutes from discovery to first bite!!

codswallop · 24/06/2003 21:53

aha finbar. they have been ganging up on me.. check out the position in family thread

Finbar · 24/06/2003 22:09

Sorry codswallop - can't be a**ed to read all of the thread - is that typical first born behaviour by the way?!!

codswallop · 01/07/2003 13:41

SoupDragon · 01/07/2003 13:47

Lunch: Boots chicken ceasar wrap and a bottle of water.
mid morning snack: Cornetto - I needed to make space in the freezer for my BOGOFF tubs of ice cream (M&Ms and Snickers)

codswallop · 01/07/2003 13:47

the strawbs were going off and had to be eaten and oily fish is good for you..

princesspeahead · 01/07/2003 13:48

can't get too excited about eating at the moment since I know its just going to go straight out again...
eughhh

codswallop · 01/07/2003 13:48

were you out shopping AGAIN soupy?

princesspeahead · 01/07/2003 13:49

but I am excited about what I'm going to eat at supper -

home grown courgettes!

all that chatting to them has paid off, they look beeyootiful

Frenchgirl · 01/07/2003 13:53

wow princesspeahead, homegrown courgettes!! have you tried steaming them, then in ovenproof dish with tomato puree and a bit of grated cheese on top? yummy!.... I grow raspberries for dd as they are her favourite food and she loves going out in the garden and picking them herself! very satisfying

TheOldDragon · 01/07/2003 13:55

Ikea, out-of-town Boots and TK Maxx. I've been slumming it

TheOldDragon · 01/07/2003 13:56

Good job I'm not trying to hide this identity! I'd make a cr*p troll.

princesspeahead · 01/07/2003 13:58

hurrah frenchgirl, someone who can appreciate the excitement of homegrown courgettes!

sounds good - I usually steam them and drizzle them with olive oil and lemon - but will try your way as well. looks like I will be eating a lot of courgettes this summer, have about 9 plants that are all going mad.

stay tuned for the home grown broad bean episode coming soon..!

princesspeahead · 01/07/2003 13:59

ps v jealous of the raspberries. didn't manage to put in any canes but have got a blueberry bush that is looking good....

Frenchgirl · 01/07/2003 13:59

not so keen on broad bean but good luck to you princess!! I get excited about the weirdest things.... (no, don't mention dh)

SoupDragon · 01/07/2003 14:02

Do blueberry bushes have thorns?

codswallop · 01/07/2003 14:06

what abput butternut squash?!!

Any way do you allmind? This thread is devoted to the pleasures of excess not (HRH) steamed bloody vegetables

Frenchgirl · 01/07/2003 14:09

OK coddy, well if you need to know, I've just had a waitrose 'chocolate surprise': the surprise was that it was reduced as it had to be eaten today so I sacrificed my waistline so that it wouldn't end up in the bin and it was absolutely delicious and creamy and chocolatey. I leave the healthy raspberries to dd
